What's your favorite house?

So you have five homes available for purchase after helping out the town it's located in. These are, if you don't know:

-Vlindrel hall (Markarth)

-Honeyside (Riften)

-Breezehome (Whiterun)

-Hjerim (Windhelm)

-Proudspire manor (Solitude)

They all have different styles to suit the city they are in, for example, vlindrel hall is a dwarven cave-home built into the side of a mountain, and they all have different prices to buy and fully furnish.

So, what houses have you bought, and which one do you like best?

Personally, I like breezehome the best. The bigger, more expensive ones seem to bare and empty for me, I like to have a cosy home. I also like vlindrel hall because of the layout and awesomeness of living like a dwarf, but the city's a bit of a s***-hole. Similar story in Riften, love the house and the hold, but the people living there are all scumbags, and not the type I would like to be around.

I have breezehome and proudspire. Both are OK but just OK. Proudspire is much larger than the first but neither have much in the way of storage. Two critical problems with Proudspire are no chest or ingredient sorters near the two labs in the basement. Also the small basement room with a bedroll could actually be furnished for your housecarl and some additional weapon racks would be nice as well.

Except for Hjerim, i own all of them (think quest for that bugged on me) so far i like Markarth the most.

Solitude is nice and big but needs much more storage space in the basement.

I dislike Honeyside in Riften the most, i find it rather small.

With all the nice improvements in bookcases, displaycases, weaponracks and mannequins i cant wait to build my own home when the Creation Kit becomes available.

My fav house would be Riften, its all small and cabiny like, very comfy in my opinion. My second fav house is Markath I really love the architectural design for it. Edited by Joshico

I couldn't have said it better. My roguish character lives in Honeyside (it is a bit cramped, especially with a housecarl *and* your companion...this house was designed for one person) but I prefer Proudspire. I found Proudspire's lack of storage in critical areas problematic, too, and I found this helpful link:

I've put in wardrobes and chests and apothecary satchels. It's a bit of work, but it's a life saver in these frustrating pre-CS days. >.<

I have all of them on my character and I'd have to say that Hjerim is my favorite, lots of space and the upstairs display area is the best of any of the houses. I can actually have a housecarl, a wife, a companion, and a dog in there at the same time and not feel the least bit crowded. Proudspire is really nice on the 2'nd and 3'rd floors, but the basement storage and display area is very lacking. :/ Vlindrel Hall is very cool, it feels like it had a little more time spent on it, but the architectural style is not very fitting for my main character so it's not really in use right now. Honeyside is a cute little cabin, very comfy and cozy, but too small for my posse. ;) Breezehome is way too small, and lacking in some ammenities, but it serves it's purpose as a cheap, easily acquired starter home and is quite nice for what it is. :)

Once the Creation Kit arrives I'll be able to make my Mountain Top Mansion with a Display Hall containing enough Manequins for every set of armor in the game and 100+ weapon display plaques. :D :D :D

Vlindrel Hall is my favorite, love the dwarven look.. All the houses are lacking with the amount of mannequins, plaques, and weapon racks, so when the creation kit comes out I'll make a dwarven home or a tower with a an ungodly amount of weapon racks and plaques, and mannequins to show off my weapon and armor collections ( mostly dwarven artifacts, what can i say their awesome  )
