Feylan
Hi guys, This is probably a pretty stupid question, but I'm reworking the Vampire and Werewolf eye textures and I was wondering if it's possible to add a glow map to these textures. Is it just a matter of making one and appending _g to the texture file name? I haven't really done anything fancy with texture modding before with TES or Fallout, beyond simple touch-ups of existing textures. Edit: nvm, actually looking around like I should have in the first place answered my question ;). Edited November 29, 2011 by Feylan
mokogrey
This may be because i'm a total newbie here, but i've also been searching the forums for adding glow maps to models, and I keep coming back to this post. If you could point me towards what you found, I would be most appreciative. I know that adding _g.dds to a tex map and adding it to the texture folder of the original does not work. I suspect that the glow map is attached to the meshes folder, but what to put in there (_g.nif?) i'm not 100% on.
Ghogiel
glow maps don't make things glow. They mask the emissive property of the models material. On top of that, all textures, such as a glow map, are linked up in the models texture set block.
