Hi guys im hopeless with anything remotely technical. It took me about 2 weeks how to download a Nexus Mod. Vanilla Fallout Newvegas vanilla is hopeless glitchy and a lot of mods require you have NVSE or whatever so they work but to use these things is beyond me i tried and failed many times and had to reinstall everything. Can some nice modder please make a Steam compatible mod that adds all the essential stuff to new vegas for idiots like me who dont want to attend computer literacy classes for the retired. Thankyou

no, we're not allowed to touch other peoples mods and compilation mods are not worth doing. also the Nexus is better then Steams mods.

If you can't get a stable vanilla game established, you aren't ready to add mods unless they are designed to make the game more stable. Most mods will only make the situation worse.

In order to play a modded game, you HAVE to educate yourself about the basics. If you aren't willing to make that effort, stick with vanilla games.

The "technical" aspects of playing modded games is primarily a matter of learning the vocabulary. The good news is that most of that vocabulary will apply across the board among all PC game mods. There are lots of articles that explain that vocabulary and the related subject matter. It just takes time. Everyone has to start somewhere. You can always come back here with questions about anything you don't understand.

Suggest you start with reading the wiki article "FNV General Mod Use Advice". It's designed to help someone in your situation get started.

Listen to Dubious and READ that link he gave you

IF you REALLY want to learn how to mod, i would suggest watching several videos from Gopher ( He's also a mod author ) below

Also after you watch some of his videos, read my own guide as it has additional info you need to learn - https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2247404-fallout-new-vegas-beginners-guide-to-modding/

Between Dubious, Gopher and myself, you have 3 of the most knowledgeable people helping you

Also as a beginner at the very least you NEED this - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/51664

As far as I know it is the ONLY patch file that does only patching, there are other patch files out there, BUT, they also add tweaks and some of them actually insert other mods into your game, which is not what you want or need right now. YUP is by far considered the BEST patch file on the New Vegas Nexus
