deinspanjer
I want to do some investigation of game mechanics and using cheat codes would make that easier. I sorta like the achievements and purity of my main character's save game though, and I don't want to muck with that. If I create a new game and use cheat codes in it, will my other save game be affected?
Lachdonin
In a word. No. In fact, i'm not even sure it causes any problems anyway... My brother cheats up the wazoo, and he's still getting acheivements...
Cornpipe
Using "cheat codes" or console commands (whether the command is considered a cheat or not) will disable achievements in Steam during the current gaming session. Once you quit the game and start again, you will be able to get achievements again. At least that is how it's supposed to work.
JimboUK
The console doesn't disable achievements, I use it quite often and I'm still getting them. That really annoyed me with New Vegas, I'd use TFC 1 and TM and the achievements would get disabled.
