EDIT - and there is no one here who would have 'hated' on you, for saying you lost your work, because that's something we've all experienced, and it sucks for sure. You would probably have been advised, with nothing but our best intentions at heart, to make backups, but I stress, no one would have belittled you for admitting you lost your work for any reason. I digress, I've had time to think about everything. I know you guys are all, what can I say, far and wide, spanning the world. I know you are all talented. I only wanted help. I am not the best at a few things and I really need a specific monster made to make the game work. I have rebuilt about 1/4 of the world but I have everything from the design of every site to the actual concept of every quest and interaction planned and ready to rock. If you really want to know the bare bones of what I need. Let's start small....... I need sand sand. Like Sahara Dessert Sand..........Real dry looking stuff. You wanna be cool and either guide me to a way I can "create" it myself or show me where some is?

 

I would greatly appreciate it.

 

Also, my "project" as you guys wanna call it, is better then any of the stuff I've seen ever on any of these nexusususes. It's my goal to bring this blessing I'm bestowing onto the fallout world, this representation of my Book/Game/Mod, and bring it to the actual game company's and sell them the idea, which in I have the team assembled and I create the actual product. In this part of the planning I think we may have a misunderstanding of what the f I does. You, no offense, couldn't dream of the things I have created for this thing. That's why you peon's, again no offense, are making the same mod's over and over. While the best mod's that have come out as of late are as old as the friggin bounty hunter stuff someguy did for NV. That's real original. Let's make another Naked chick who poop's on herself. Let's make fluffy pillows you lil pansey's can bat each other with.

What does that tell you?

 

There are hundreds, upon hundreds, upon hundreds of ideas that people want. It's overwhelming, and there are only so many mod creators out there.

 

Instead of making requests and asking people to do the work for you. Take the time to learn modding if you're truly interested in committing time to it.

Nobody will take anyone seriously unless they can put out some serious proofs.

 

There's an entire mod for Fallout 4 being built around Washington. They've got concepts, screenshots, and plenty of details that anyone can go off of.

 

Nobody is going to steal some dudes idea off a forum.

So you've killed any chance of help you might have had, firmly, moreso with your last post where you effectively call every other mod in existence inferior to your non-existent "idea". Now that you've just talked down to countless mod creators, your chances of finding help from valuable sources is rapidly reaching zero to none. Keep digging the hole even deeper if you must, but maybe you should move on, and the rest of us should stop feeding the troll...?

If the idea is really as big a project requiring many people to accomplish it as you say it is, then it's unlikely that mod thieves who are virtually always individuals looking for an easy reputation score with as little effort as possible are going to be organized enough to finish it before you do and they wouldn't be able to know all your plans anyway if you just gave a brief outline. Furthermore, simply publishing the general overview of your idea on a public forum gives you legal proof that you had the idea before any other team that might decide to compete. If it were truly such a mind blowing, huge idea that it could actually get a book deal and the attention of Bethesda in any serious way, you would have to be willing to like maybe hire a lawyer to advise you on copyrighting your idea or something as legal protection and then just be willing to sue the pants off anyone trying to steal it. You don't seem to understand the mindset of mod thieves at all and you don't really seem to understand the mindset of modders either. If you understood either then you'd understand that you're not losing anything and only gaining if you just gave us a freaking overview of what you want. No one will want to help you without that.

 

Your last paragraph in which you state that we are all mere "peons" that couldn't "dream" of this "blessing" you are "bestowing" on us has to be hands down the single most offensive thing I've ever read on this entire site. Yet despite that I'm going to try to calmly and rationally explain why your approach is problematic. If you want people's help, that level of blatant condescension is definitely not going to win you friends and influence people to do anything at all for you besides showing you the door and hoping it hits you on the way out. You state "no offense" and that you want "a truce" but your words are in fact accomplishing the exact opposite. Frankly if I could make the best sand you've ever seen, sand that would blow your mind because you are unable to comprehend the sheer sandiness of it...I wouldn't make it for you. I'm guessing that pretty much every single person who has read this thread feels the same way now.

 

In the future if you want to have more success here are a few basic rules of thumb for functioning in a society of humans.

1. Don't post in all caps with a huge font for the entire post. It is considered screaming and immature in text based formats such as the internet.

2. Present your idea in a brief overview. You don't want a tl;dr level post that gives away every single detail, but you must provide at least some detail to attract people's interest in the project.

3. People will not want to work on a project that offers little/no money unless it is a topic that interests them or has the likelihood of being a great resume booster. People will not simply take your word that it will be the biggest project ever, they want to make that judgement for themselves. We don't know you, frankly you come across as fairly delusional so we want to know that anything we might sign on to isn't delusional fantasy but actually has real potential. These are the reasons why you need to give people an overview of the project.

4. No one likes being told that they are a peon, uncreative, or incapable of being as good as you. For some reason pretty much all humans find that sort of thing insulting. So if you don't understand why they don't like that, maybe just try to memorize it as a good rule of thumb that us dumb humans don't like that and if you want to manipulate us into doing what you want, don't take that approach.

This is literally the most arrogant thing I have ever read. Not bad for a guy who has zero mods to his name AND requires help from all the "peons". Don't want to reveal your mind-blowing ideas due to theft? Trainwiz has been working on Maxwell's world for months. People have known about it...for months. If his material didn't end up stolen considering his modding godhood, pretty sure you're safe. Not that anyone really cares anymore one way or the other.
