My thoughts on Nuka world (spoiler alert)

If I could do anything I wanted in Nuka world, here is what I'd do.

- Kill all the raiders

- turn the power on

-Improve/upgrade the market, get crafters and scavengers working for me to supply the market with goods. make partnerships with area farms to sell their goods, sell chems, weaps, clothing, food, etc.

-Live shows: attract musicians, actors, comedians to put on live shows in the theater (remember you could do this in F:NV)

-Open hotels, as classy as possible in the fallout world

-ahem Brothels, cough cough for horizontal refreshment

-Security, to keep raiders out

-restaurants, cheap foods like meat on a stick and classy, like brahmin sirloin

I already discovered the "good" ending by accident when the doctor spoke to me, so I may go with that after doing a few quests for the Operators.

One thing that really annoys me here is the incredibly loud music and PA announcements - when I was talking to Doc Phosphate I literally couldn't hear a word it was saying so I had to find which audio controls turned them down.

Maybe a stupid question but I have not found a Workshop in my "home" which is pretty disgusting - do we have to wait for a Mod to let us redecorate this place ?

Well, I generally like nuka world, but yea, if I had two wishes, it would be:

A) give me a workshop bench I can link with a Provisioner. You know, so I don't have to go back to Sanctuary Hills just to repair my ninja power armour

B) well, I wish the choice would have come earlier in the story. Let's be honest, by level 50, if I'm at all interested in settlements, then I already own everything in the Commonwealth. There's no real point in my conquering some settlements as a raider, if I already own them anyway.

In my ideal game, the choice would have come in Concord already. Have me meet Gristle and his gang outside, talk to them, and decide if I want to join them or rescue the settlers. Kinda like Wolfgang outside Trudy's joint.

I mean, Preston seems to be making a dent in their numbers anyway, so I can't imagine them having anything to lose if they let a newbie join them and go first. Worst that can happen is I take a shot in the head and they rush in while Preston reloads, right?

And some may say, "yeah, but Raiders attack everyone", but the terminals and notes, plus some dialogues, (e.g., with Gage) make it very clear that they DO recruit new people all the time.

So, anyway, siding with Gristle would result in a quest to kill everyone but Mama Murphy, put a collar on her, and bring her to Jared in the Corvega factory. If you've read his terminal, you know why it makes sense.

So at that point, I'd be a recruit in Jared's gang, and sent around to deal with settlements or rival gangs.

After a couple of missions, Jared would try to get me killed (as in Gauge's story, for example) or something, Gristle would decide he's had enough of Jared's obsession with Mama Murphy and drugs, and basically he pulls a Gauge by backing me against Jared. Then I'm the boss and go about spreading my raider empire, and get Gristle as a companion.

Basically it's not very different from the Minutemen story, and I don't think it would require much more recorded dialogue.

Am I the only one who wished the story would play out something like that?

That seems like a pretty massive change to the game to be honest. Several major storylines would be messed up, a lot of dialogue would have to be redone, both dialogue specific for this and secondary dialogue referencing the minutemen, the actual DLC part of this would become essentially meaningless, and would have to be completely changed to make sense, and a ton of quests would have to be created.

Well, maybe not in a DLC. But I can at least hope that's how the raider part will go in the next game...

Same here, except the goal would be to milk as many caps as possible from the park. I need a constant inflow of cash to afford all these bullets and bulk shipments of steel, wood, and concrete.

The gallons of purified water turned out by Vault 88 is my primary income at the moment, but the traders can only buy up so much... I need more

Haven't finished yet but I am considering siding with Operators, because they seem to be just as money-hungry as I am. Does anyone know if siding with the Operators gives you "big, big money?"

Yep.

No:

I'm still in the process of clearing out the parks- just found out I'm gonna need the power on to complete Star Control, and there doesnt seem to be a specific quest to turn it on, so Im headed to the power plant today. So far I'm not really seeing much difference between the Disciples, The Pack, and your garden variety Raider, I'd happily kill them all, but the Operators seem to be more like the Gunners in that they might actually be reasonable (for the most part, of course they still have thier psychopath outliers)- I'd love to have the option to offer them a choice: "Join the Minutemen and make the world a better place, or you can join your fellow raiders- in the ground."

For some dumb reason though, all three 'factions' share aggro, so if I shoot a Disciple in town, everyone turns on me. Hey, I'm the 'Overboss' right? I should get a few free kills for the lulz...

Its even worse than that, actually- I had to reload a game last night and go back like 30 minutes, cause I killed a patrol of Disciples outside of the park, but somehow when I returned, everyone was all pissed off at me- what happened to "what happens in the Wasteland stays in the Wasteland?"

okay, yeah- I swear I just 'found' these six sets of Disciple gear just laying around- but still...
