Is the new patch worth it?

I see many complaints about the game getting worse - mine stopped working. I'm using the skip intro mod, now it gets to the main menu with the smoke ambiance and, well, I wouldn't be writing this if it worked.

=P Game completely buggered now.

Having the same issue myself. Has anyone figured out how to fix this?

I was wondering the same thing.

Oh wait, the folks over on the Steam forms said that you should "Turn off mods, and remove skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini" they especially suggest disabling ValsCraftingMeltdown. Which sucks because that mod is awesome!

and now the speculation of MODs being the case begins... meh

this has 0 and I mean 0 to do with MODs (unless of course your MOD is altering the exe file directly such as 4gb did then there was an issue other than that MODs do not break an exe and broken exe breaks an exe.)

patches publicity social experiment phenomena

Heck I have been playing the game in offline mode for over a week now to avoid automatic updates to Skyrim. Got caught with the Steam Update to Skyrim but not again. Sure glad I did since from what read this patch made the game worse. Looks like I will be playing in offline mode for some time to come. Until Beth gets its ducks in order.

Oh look. Steam ignored my "Do not update this application" settings and updated Skyrim anyway.

I'm not using any .esp mods, and the resistances are broken.

Bethesda, seriously. Breaking your game with a patch is just idiotic. Who is working on these patches anyway, and how can you break such a vital part of the game without noticing it?
