Issues with 1.2

Only problem I have ran into is a few dragons fly backwards :rolleyes: They should of fixed more major bugs but there will probably be another patch to come soon.

this is pretty much the main problem that, I'm taking a break from Skyrim for, though I'm suspecting it to just be Scripted Dragons when I faced the one that did that for me, cause I called Odaviing and he wasn't quite as derpy, and I also faced an Ancient dragon earlier today after the update

 

there's also this place, I think it was called Ygnol's Barrow or something, that after I cleared it the first time, I went back in to check if there was a word of power cause I noticed that I didn't get any, and the 2nd time I went in the game turns this funky color (though sorta like the color of when you get close enough to a word wall for the word) and I can't load any previous save files, can't access the regular menus by tab or favorites menu, and sense it's to dark to see I don't know how to get out, though I've also tried goingin and turning back and it doesn't take me out either, so only way out was to shut the game down.

 

and speaking of words I noticed, sense I had to go fight a dragon for a quest, and went to the one that had the "Frost Breath" word, that I already cleared, the wall apparently gave me another word, sense I approached the wall, no words glowed but the scene got dark and the sound affects of gaining a word started and stuff like that.

 

(also I pretty much have a vanilla Skyrim, did get a few textures for the sky and no blocky faces, the likes, but otherwise it's pretty much unmodded)

using an xbox controller on my pc now I cant as it seems I cant even use my keyboard to store items. First though got the update to my dismay could not get the game to start and even with no mods and never had the >4gbloader or LAA installed. i did revert back the TESV.exe and I can launch the game however having issues with making keys work and x button my controller works by default to sheathe or draw weapons however if a call for it to store item it fails. Using keyboard for same task same issue. Guess the system.ini and maybe the systemprefs.ini got messed up as there are some odd graphical distortions as well. Also I am stuck in breezehome everytime i go to leave it crashes or the door will not open.

disabling vals meltdown allowed me to access the start game menu.

 

I haven't tried playing the game yet, but I noticed that my most recent achievement (Bleak Falls Barrow) is now no longer done. Which really annoys me since I had to create a new character to get that achievement because for some reason it bugged out the first play through as I'd already done that dungeon by the time I got that quest. I'd rather not have to create another new character to get the achievement.

 

Anyone else having achievement issues? The daedric artifacts one is the only other one I need to get and that's because apparently I can't destroy the Skull o Corruption to get it, so I'm fine with the new character redoing all the daedric quests, but this Bleak Falls Barrow thing appears to be really glitchy.

 

Previous issues I'd have with the game were texture issues, graphic issues, game crashing to desktop on autosave, freezing on quicksave, dragons randomly dying or flying away after a while if I didn't kill them fast enough, (if I were fighting two at once and focussing on one at a time), quest start issues with the companions and thieves guild, quest completion issues with bounty's, issues with finding quest items early.

Not sure if they've been fixed with the new patch or not, but I doubt it. -_-

 

 

 

EDIT: Ok loaded game trying to get a screenshot of my char for my profile picture... Mouse sensitivity is retarded. If I even knock the mouse a little up or down I look straight up or straight down, left and right seems slower than it was before, load screen took about 3 mins to actually load game, when it did load people nearby were moving frame by frame, menu will not let me use arrow keys to navigate and mouse is slow. Bleh.

 

Also: My characters eyes are now BLACK. they were red before the patch.

Ok so I accidentally launched steam and it downloaded the 1.2 patch. I reverted the tesv.exe to the original one I had which was set for 4GB ram use. The game works fine, except for 1 thing. I CAN'T do anything in menus. What I mean by this is I try and fast travel, and click the left mouse button and it closes the menu as if I pressed tab. I try to craft armors, or improve them, and it won't let me click yes or no and just gets stuck there. Anyone have a fix for this?

 

EDIT: I found out with the crafting menu I have to actually press Y for yes and N for no. However, I still can't figure out how to fast travel...

Try disabling Vals Crafting mod if you have it. I was having the same problems, no menu, no music, only smoke and dragon logo. Once I disabled the mod it worked!

Now for my tale of woe concerning the update. For some reason now my custom controls for my 360 controller no longer work right.

 

Default Settings:

A = Interact

X = Sheathe

Y = Jump

B = Menu

 

My controller settings:

A = Jump

X = Interact

Y = Sheathe

B = Menu

 

Since the patch the only way my controller works is on default settings. Is there any way to fix this other than being forced to use default controls?

 

Edit: Let me amend that statement. My custom controls work fine in-game but as soon as i try to use the map (e.g. fast-travel/set marker) or anything in the normal menus they no longer work.
