Just can't tollerate the textures in this game any longer - need advice

I really can't take the low-res textures on my high / medium settings. I especially cannot take the way the textures get uglier the longer I play. It's driving me nuts.

I am aware of ENBoost, but, I can't run my preferred ReShader (DECAY) with it. I need to run a ReShader because I also cannot stomach the colours of the vanilla game. Must I put up with either bad textures or horrible colours?

Is there anything I can do?

I have added lines to my Fallout4.ini to try to improve textures, such as:

bForceUpdateDiffuseOnly=0
iTextureUpgradeDistance1=7500
iTextureUpgradeDistance0=5000
iTextureDegradeDistance1=7500
iTextureDegradeDistance0=5000

I have done all I can think of, but I am getting nowhere.

These textures are so friggin' horrible I can't enjoy my game at all. I'm playing Nuka World and all I could think about was textures textures textures. Totally immersion-wrecking garbage this sort of thing is.

So, I would love to know what options I have. If I have any. Such as, can I use a ReShader with ENBoost?

I only have a GTX 560 with 8 gig of RAM. If that helps.

Really can't take it anymore!! :confused: :sad: Please help!

Have a look at Tamikonelf's Sharper FallOut overhauls and also at Hein84's Vivid series.

I must add that I've also been suffering from my textures turning into an undistinguishable goo after having played aa while. I gotten rid of it through some voodoo shenanigans of which I can't remember the exact modus operandi, but I'm back to square one since I swapped me ol' MSI R7970 Lightning 3GB for an 8GB MSI RX470 GamingX GPU...

Thanks, mate. I actually use one or two 'vivid' mod replacer files, but the problem is much worse than just replacing textures, it is like you said - the textures turn to mud on their own. I don't know what to do to stop this from happening.

I can load (coc) my mod levels, and the textures look perfect, but if I play the game itself, like for example the Gauntlet area in Nuka World, as time goes on, the textures become absolutely horrible to look at. Even saving and reloading did not fix this - they were just a mess.

Texture Optimzation project didn't fix it, Vivid textures didn't fix it. .ini file changes didn't fix it, and, like I said, in my own custom levels the textures are fantastic, so I don't just have a crap computer which cannot get textures looking good, it's more than that. It's a problem with the game itself.

But how can it be fixed?

The problem started with the 1.3 or 1.5 patch, where Bethesda switched from a direct rendering system to a streaming system to load textures, in order to not overburden GPUs and also to shorten load times. I know I fiddled with the game's settings through Bilago's FO4 Customisation Tool but I can't remember what I did (gotten things fixed by accident, I must say) plus setting the game to 'medium' through its own menu. The latter didn't show any difference with either 'High' or 'Ultra' settings but on the contrary gave pico-bello goo-free picture...

Bilago's tool can be set to use whatever .exe file; I've set it to start the game through the F4SE_loader.exe. I need the latter only to be able to use the Place Everywhere mod...
