Liberate Haafingar bug

Just found the following on the Elder Scrolls Wiki, just copied and pasted from there:

"Then found out that Galric only had that option when he was standing with his hands on the table, on the right side of the table (right-side as you're in the door of the tent, facing in). When he was walking around, or had his hands on the left side, it wasn't there. One of the more strange bugs I've come across.

Not sure if this is common. If a lot of people encounter this, it might be worth adding to the article.

Just confirmed this on the Xbox. I had to wait until Galric took his hands off the table before I could "report in".

The same thing happened to me, during the part where I was first supposed to report to Galmar. The only way he would let me report in was to talk to him while he was leaning on the right side of the table -- just as explained in this topic. 360 version, by the way. --Bippo Ernesti 16:54, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

Same for PS3 version. Returning to Windhelm doesn't work, but waiting for Galmar to get off the map got the quest kickstarted."

Seems as though you have to wait for him to be in the right position in order for the "Reporting In" dialogue option to occur.

Hope this helps

Okay guys went at this for a half hour before it worked......

Head to the camp from the opposite side of the mountain so that the dragon doesnt get a chance to reach the camp and glitch it out.

All I had to do to make it work was slay the dragon before entering the camp and the dialog option to report in worked fine which had never worked when I went directly into the camp

I've encountered this bug as well, it's my first time fighting for the Stormcloaks. I noticed that in the middle of the battle at Hraggstad a text came up saying that there were 0% imperials enemies left even though there were a lot left. Then when the battle was finally over everyone but my follower and dog disappeared instantly as the last imperial died. I returned to the camp and tried to report but that's where it's the same as for everyone else who got this bug.

I've tried every solution I've found in every forum about this bug but nothing has worked for me. I even reloaded my last save which was 4 levels prior when I hadn't started the Liberate Haafingar quest, but instead this time the bug was there too, I could only select "How can I help?" but that didn't even trigger any conversation. It seems that after 30 seconds or so I get the next goal for the quest(Report to Ulfric) even if I haven't tried to talk to Galmar, but I can't speak to Ulfric either.

I guess I'll just have to drop the quest for this character and hope it will work out with another. I'm kind of pissed off though, this makes 4 bugs in total that have hindered me from completing main quests in Skyrim.

well , it's like 30 days since i took over fort hraggstad and still nothing changed, and nothing of those things i found on internet about this bug helped.

I've read on a few forums that attacking Stone Fist until he falls to his knees brings up the conversation option "Reporting In" works on PS3 trying on PC tonight

Hope this helps

Confirmed to work. Just make sure you do it hidden, or the rest of the stormcloaks in the camp will attack you, and if you accidentally kill any of them, Galmar (and any other stormcloack) will be permanently hostile

It did not work for me. i've tried everything. i even tried to hit ulffric storcloak

You probably already tried this...but is it your load order? Maybe you have some mod that bugs it?

These things happen, to be honest. But I tend to have a save before the whole quest/incident happens. With bethesa games stuff like that kinda happens. For example in Fallout 4 a quest stage wouldn't trigger and I had to resort to an earlier save.

There were other times when I simply had to bite the bullet, as it were.
