Fallout Alternates One 33.1 [44]

Doppelganger biosynths had all transformed into armour plated officers of gold, silver and copper star ratings being 3, 2 or 1 stars. Copper were less powerful, more common, than silver and so on up to gold. The same ratios went for amount of stars. As for the non doppelganger biosynths, also now armour plated, they acted as a single great rank of non commissioned officers. Synths were the 'privates', the cannon fodder, greatly outnumbering all biosynths and the robots had no real ranking at all.

A great force of shadow-entity altered doppelganger led force materialised in an outer hub, long abandoned, of SanasTerminus. No turrets, or robots, were there to give them a hot welcome and any critters just fled smartly into hiding after which nobody bothered to hunt them. Being shadow-entity twisted, these biosynths, synths and robots could not be easily changed by the orb-entities though it turned out it could be done with enough focused power; the orb-entities were too busy fighting shadow-entities, directly, to even consider doing so.

SarahAta sat in assault power armour, with her new exotic abilities and Solar Federat advanced tech. Around her were assault power armoured Colonial Marines being equipped with heavy pulserifles with various attached extras. Colonial Marines had fought Confederation supported rebels on Mars, rogue spacers as they assaulted spacestationships and had helped crush three rebellions on-in Luna. SarahAta had gained more information about the history of the SF and was not totally pleased with all of their actions but she had to admit the Factions of Steel had just as dubious a history. One main reason, for the creation of the Orderhood of Steel, was to get away from those dark historical moments and to create an improved history.

SarahAta felt a shiver run through the assault-shuttle as it unleashed volleys of missiles at on coming shadowsaucers. There were no windows in such craft and all there were ensconced in armoured battle chairs. A shudder ran through the spacecraft as it was struck by an enemy projectile of some kind but clearly it was not destroyed, far from it.

Sooner than she expected the assault-shuttle was grappling itself to a large bulk and moving towards a hole that would be handy for offloading soldiers, robots and even androids. SarahAta had only DocKelly with her as the Lyons Valiant were distributed through out many assault-shuttles.

More heavily armed gun-shuttles tried to protect the assault-shuttles as did space-fighters and bigger fighterships. Energy pulses and explosions flashed. Missiles and cannon shells shot across vacuum.

There was a loud clang and precious air began to be fast sucked out of the big cabin. SarahAta was not the first to go into the zero gravity vacuum of what used to be a big thriving part of SanasTerminus. Bones filled spacesuits floated through the air along with bits and pieces of machinery; an old spider-robot drifted there. There was lots of junk and nothing of any real use. Many had died there and not just humans but some zeromans, zero gravity bioengineered humans. In theory the last of the zeromans all dwelt out in the Belt of asteroids, some large enough to be classed as planets.

Thirteen orb-entities shot into the big area, past derelict shuttlecraft and armoured sections of hull. Then they spread out, with the same amazing speed as they had entered the area with, and a flash of energy swept outwards from them.

SarahAta had only one thought as she blanked out into peaceful warmth and it was 'here we go again!'

Fallout Alternates One 34.1 [45]

The thinking behemoth, of a supermutant, stood smiling as he observed the 'female' behemoth dancing or at least sort of dancing. Giggles was only graceful, in such things, in her mind as she attempted to be the fine young ballerina that she had been back before her mutagenic horror transformation. Uncle Leo clapped, as Giggles fell onto her large bum for the third time, and others also did so. Uncle Leo was one of the living minority who were not astounded by the other behemoth that they had found living in a big underground car parking area. The Sisterhood of Steel, the Orderhood of Gaia, the Outcasts of Steel and others had kept bringing her things to eat and drink including pristine water.

Uncle Leo smiled at spoke to all there with a quiet voice that somehow carried easily to all. "Giggles is one of us. We are to give her due respect and lots of clear area when she wishes to dance; I have already communicated with Giggles and have indicated that she can have a dance area of her own. We will stay here for the foreseeable future and utilise this, along with other chambers, in this area. A great threat is coming and we must be prepared for it, must seek better shelter, and from here we will do so."

Giggles sat up and gave everybody a big odd smile. "Giggles like to dance to forget bad things and to remember good things. Once Giggles was a lovely young lady, a ballerina, who danced so very lovely on stage. Then, after things went all very bad, Giggles was in a shelter but supermutants came and dragged Giggles and others away. Giggles became big, very big, in awful vault place with supermutants; then Giggles danced away from that place."

Uncle Leo spoke. "LifeVault-083 was where Giggles came from, as I did, and we met as behemoths but somehow she escaped before I did. Oddly enough Giggles does not really remember how she did so except that it had something to do with small globe thingies that flew through the air; I suspect that Giggles means 'orb-entities'."

Giggles picked up a big bowl of water and gulped some down. Then she carefully put the bowl down. "Yes, globe thingies changed Giggles and then made special place for Giggles to go if she be in danger; that is me. Giggles goes there where there are things that Giggles gives to others so they give things to her but they did so even before Giggles gave them things."

Robots, androids, animans, synths and many others were there including ghoulmans and humans. The majority were sleeping for it had been a long trek from the last, brief, resting place. Even with robotic help, and small all terrain vehicles, much had to be carried by individuals. Thankfully there were big strong supermutants able to carry heavy loads though only three were behemoths. Androids, and synths, carried very big backpacks full of equipment-supplies. Living children, and elders, or others unable to move under their own steam, were often carried in different ways.

Uncle Leo 'saw' the special large gate in one wall that only a few of the group could see, Giggles being one of them. Soon all of them would go through that door except for volunteers who would take turns in an outpost. The outpost would be for those drawn towards Uncle Leo or to there for other, subtle, reasons. Uncle Leo did not even pretend to know what was really going on but had faith in 'that which was guiding him' including his growing awareness of enlightenment.

When the gate opened, becoming visible to all as the psychic cloaking was deactivated, a surprise was waiting for all of them. The whole group moved into a very big chamber that was a monorail subway station. There were five monorail train carriages there with one electric locomotive. Uncle Leo watched as the first half of the big group departed via the train. He would not go until he was sure that the last to go safely was gone. A few would stay in that place where Giggles had her own home place complete with a variety of globe-entity adapted companions. Uncle Leo considered staying in that place where he could be a companion to Giggles but then a very interesting compromise came to him.

He spoke to those around himself. "I will be more than one Uncle Leo who are still one Uncle Leo."

Fallout Alternates Zero 7.1 [46]

The Sarah Lyons Superclones were growing in strength, and versatility, of their more exotic abilities. They began to teleport objects to each other, at first quite small and only of a more basic nature, to utilise such as telekinetics, pyrokinetics, levitation and other abilities. The sheer 'internal' size of the great structure meant that the LSComplex became only one section of it and the whole was renamed as the CCSanctum. The Lyons Sisters, and their followings, returned to the OofS as the semiautonmous Lyons Order of Steel. Many Orderhood of Steel people shifted to the new order but the main OofS still had greatly more Orderhood people. The biosynth-synth force, and FEARIUs, were also linked with the Lyons Order. The Sisterhood of Steel made its first contact with the new order as did the Exiles of Steel and the Outcasts of Steel.

In the CCSanctum no more exotic breakthroughs, discoveries, had happened for some time.

More refugees began to arrive and also persecuted groups seeking a better life. Intensive, careful, security vetting that found attempts to infiltrate the sanctum and not just by dangerous doppelgangers; many were those who had criminal records or feared that their true nature would not allow them to be in the CCSanctum, such as living vampires of the Blooded Family that were known as biovires; they were dealt with carefully, according to the merits of their individual cases.

Reports, from the far north, state that LASNet forces withdrew from their assault having failed against the TransEnclaven and the renamed Alaskan TransEnclave. Some start raising doubts to the actual authenticity of the attack, of the battle that had had raged, being outside witnesses to it who considered to have been staged to look like a real conflict. The LASNet forces seemed to vanish into the Alaskan wilderness.

Reilly's Rangers Third Platoon, Reilly's Hunters, finds a valuable hidden cache of databank hardware along with prototype robots and more standard PreDoomsday robots. It is in a hidden lower basement level beneath a cultural agency office block. The RR get to keep much of the loot and also gain a big bonus. The OofS buys most of the robotics, other gear, and obtains copies of all of the data. The datafiles include information on the Liberty Prime Robotic Program of Projects, the LPRPP, otherwise known as the the Super Robotic Program.

The NRNC Civil War continues as treacherous factions join sides with the biosynth-synth invader infiltrators. The Loyalist forces take control over the capital city of Texstoun as the invader-infiltrators are driven back, along with their treacherous allies.

The LifeVault-101 purge continues to gain momentum as higher status scapegoats begin to fall. Jasmine becomes the official commander of the Exterminators and is granted a small wage which does not thrill her as her work load increases greatly as does her responsibilities.

Shadow-entities are spotted in the Wastelands and orb-entities are spotted more often; other types of such entities begin to appear such as the flesh-entities, burning-entities, the sparkling-entities and the freezing-entities. The burning-entities seem to be the most dangerous. There are, apparently, more than one type of 'flesh-entities'.

The fighting continues in the SanasTerminus as the LS-Superclones begin to suspect that the story of the Hubbers, in the Central Hub, may be a false one. The reason is that hacking finds contradictory data on what is happening there and orb-entities, that got closer to it, found no large amount of life signs there.

Uncle Leo stays with Giggles, for he is her actual uncle who looked after her when both were humans, while Uncle Leo also travels via monorail train to the CCSanctum proper.

Fallout Alternates One 35.1[47]

It was confirmed to both SarahAta, and SarahUlt, that the SanasTerminus Central Hub was no bastion of any 'Hubbers' when the real Hubbers made contact with SarahAta from the a Secondary Central Hub, a normal backup and emergency replacement to the Central Hub. There were humans, zeromans (zero gravity humans), animans, androids and robots there but, though they were ready for trouble, they had only dealt with small enemy recon units that had quickly withdrawn from fighting.

They did have strange, disturbing news, that large forces had appeared at the Central Hub, twice, only to vanish mysteriously just as instantly as they had appeared. The first group was large but much smaller than the second. It did not take too long to compute that the mysterious forces were likely those that had vanished, in the Commonwealth of Columbia, through very dark means. Where had they gone and how had they gotten there? Another disturbing report was the sighting of great 'clouds' of desiccated bodies floating just off from the Central Hub being those of supermutants and the kinds of creatures that normally went with them. Again there seemed to have been some kind of treacherous, horrific, murder of what normally were known as monsters but even they did not deserve such a fate.

SarahAta, and SarahUlt, continued their major assault now fully focused on getting to the Central Hub to see just what was going on. The two forces also strove to link up together as one headed along one great 'spoke' and the other headed now along a great bending ring segment. As their units moved along the big spaces, they encountered increasingly sporadic resistance. The shazefel were not just dropping back but appeared to be departing, in shadowcraft, from the SanasTerminus.

The two SL-Superclones entered the great chamber that been disintegrated, burned, out of the guts of the Central Hub. There was a terrible, powerful, sensation of great psychic-spiritual evil having been carried out there. Yet a series of heavily armoured special purpose secondary hubs seemed to be undamaged; these stuck out at the edges of the Central Hub.

In one of these SarahAta learned that clinging to a big fake refugee carrier had been a great shadowcraft much bigger than the biggest shadowspheres yet encountered, let alone the smaller shadowsaucers. But it had managed to depart from the Solar Federation commanded fleet some time ago leaving only traces of its being there.

SarahUlt discovered that another shadowstructure was linked to another great ship. It was abandoned and as Federats entered it, they found the means for making biosynths of varied kinds along with other exotic entities; vital data had been removed so no real details were found.

The pair stood in a big secondary hub chamber, where both forces were at work to start preparing SanasTerminus for SolFed take over. Firstly exploration parties had to go out after fighting recon teams did. The whole terminus had to be checked for tampering, booby-traps and ambushes. Then the real work would begin to try to understand just what the SanasTerminus was, what its real history was and what it could be used for.

SarahUlt spoke. "Did we do any real good being here?"

SarahAta nodded. "Something tells me that we forced the enemy to retreat from SanasTerminus when it was hoping to use it somehow in a fashion that would have ended in terrible results for far too many. The orb-entities transformed a great outer hub into a complete spacestation in its own right filled with amazing resources including databanks full of datafile libraries. This place has many secrets yet to discover including three superweapons that were never used and the experimental prototype starship Reacher II that was never fully completed, giant space robots designed to work with SanasTerminus, and five experimental hyperdrive systemwarships. You may end up remaining here, at least for now, while I go to Luna with Captain Jane Kirk and her people. We need to prepare to fight the GreatShadow."

An orb-entity came to them and spoke, hovering before them. "The GreatBurning comes to find, and destroy, the GreatShadow. In some ways it is more terrible than is the GreatShadow. We orb-entities serve the GreatBalancing but we may not be powerful enough to resist both great enemies. We are limited in how, and how much, we can intervene but we will continue to assist to change the SanasTerminus and the CCSanctum. A lull before the storm is here and will last fairly long time; that time must be fully taken advantage of."

The two, power armoured superclones, nodded in acknowledgement of the evident truth of the statement.

Fallout Alternates One 36.1 [48]

The Mysterious Stranger, as an attractive blonde white woman in a trench coat, moved through the big underground car park chamber now decorated with colourful murals. A big adorable version, of a mutthound, came and licked her hand in welcome.

TFMS scratched the, formerly savage, creature behind one ear and then noted that Uncle Leo, or at least one aspect of him, was reading a story to a sleepy Giggles who was soon asleep with her lap in her uncle's lap. With her were various companion creatures, robots and androids. In the distance some of Uncle Leo's followers were checking out an old atomic-electric vehicle for possible reuse, or safe disposal, of.

The Mysterious Stranger spoke. "Uncle Leo, I am glad to see that both Giggles and yourself are well. Does she know her real name?"

The massive, peaceful, behemoth nodded his big head. "She knows her name is Gloria but still prefers to be called 'Giggles' as she was when she was just a small child, a rather precocious infant with dreams of being a great ballerina. As you suspected, Giggles briefly encountered a monstrous looking creature that did not really frighten her; it was a big, long, thing with areas one could see into and in those places were trapped creatures slowly being 'eaten up'. They were mostly supermutants, when she saw the creature, but there were also ghouls, humans, radworms and others."

TFMS came closer. "Such a creature was spotted close to what was then the LSComplex, now being the CCSanctum. If Giggles was not frightened, then perhaps the entities are doing something for good. One aspect, of myself, went to the area but only found feint traces of such a creature. There were also some traces of some kind of antinatural toxins. One has continued to look for Giggle's parents now that evidence has arisen that they were ghoulified and that there is a good chance that they are ghoulmans instead of ghouls."

The Mysterious Stranger took off her hat and flicked her hair through the air. She stood with her hat in her hands. "The GreatShadow has been given a great defeat but it also made some gains that would have been better prevented. We, the FreeGuardians, thus have more work to do but more time to do it in before the GreatBurning reaches us or the GreatShadow returns. I will remain here, with Giggles and yourself, along with your companions, if you will have me."

Uncle Leo nodded. "You are of course welcome but do remember to keep a safe distance if Giggles decides to have a dance."

She just smiled!

Fallout Alternates: One 37.1 [49]

SarahAta Lyons departed from SanasTerminus with a fleet as commanded by now Admiral Jane Kirk. Behind remained SarahUlt and her forces but also many who had been refugees. The JunkSlums were fixed into big open, enclosed and semienclosed, areas of the massive patchwork structure. The spacestationships were to remain attached to SanasTerminus at least for the known future. The GreatShadow, and the shaze, may have retreated towards deep space but the threat of the fake Solar Confederation remained. The Belters became fully members of the Solar Federation as did those now living at SanasTerminus.

SarahUlt Lyons moved through a great corridor of a great buttress, the sides of which were great monorails along which once had run robotic freight carriers. The great brutish machines were still there, abandoned centuries ago, and great freight containers could be seen in many of them. That area reflected the crazy desperation, and eccentric planning, that seemed to have been behind the creation of that place. Yet SarahUlt, like all of the SL-Superclones, was starting to question easy assumptions about that place. For example one great, seemingly pointless, pipe structure had turned out to be a massive railgun capable of hurling great projectiles easily as far as Mars or even Jupiter.

Orb-entities bobbled along before her, and Lyons Vanguard. The three of them seemed determined to show her something but what? Nothing seemed to be visible, let alone evident, of interest. Then it happened. A big area ahead shimmering, changed, as an advanced holographic illusion projector was deactivated and there stood burned, blackened, remains of what had been a huge vessel.

SarahUlt was astonished and she spoke through her space power armour speakers. "The nuclear blasted remains of the SS Reacher being remains that in theory should not exist. Something odd about it... yes, it was destroyed from the inside out but was it from a missile penetrating the armoured hull or was it some kind of internal detonation such as from a self-destruct network-system?"

Major Sandic012, upgraded adapted biosynth but not a superbiosynth, responded from where he floated in his own space power armour. "Readings, and analysis indicate it was destroyed from deep within and so the cause was more luckily to be such as a self-destruct network-system, perhaps one linked to either a nuclear reactor or to at least one hidden nuke or even both."

Why lie about there being no remains left of the prototype warpdrive starship with its ability to plunge into deep hyperspace unlike the systemships that could only 'hyperspace shallow dive'? Then she noted the odd holes riddling the very heavy hull being like very large bullet holes though very small compared to the massive size of the remaining pieces of the vessel.

An orb-entity spoke. "Deep, in hyperspace where no mortal humans should be able to, let alone go, the SS Reacher was attacked by an aspect of the GreatShadow. Orb-entities came to the rescue of those on board, and not just humans, but while all were saved all were damaged to some degree. It was learned, by the GreatBalancing, through orb-entities, that it was partly human treachery that had led the SS Reacher to its terrible ambush. Those human traitors had been in contact with the GreatShadow using means most evil and twisted. Those human traitors were linked with a dark conspiracy linked to human factions like the TekCorps, the original Enclaven, the Illuminate and the Pureshadow Cult including the mysterious, dark, Reshilbup who vague intentions were ever troubling to the valiant creative Retwri."

SarahUlt sighed. "Yes, one has heard inklings of the struggle of the Retwri to become an Rothau despite the difficulties caused by the Reshilbup. What information was gained from examining the remains of the SS Reacher and why was it hidden?"

The orb-entity spoke. "Because it led to the development of an ultraweapon that could prove to be decisive against not just against the GreatShadow but also against the GreatBurning also. At least that is what has been surmised by the GreatBalancing, and its allies. That ultraweapon has vanished with out a trace or so it seems. Why was the truth hidden; to try to stop the GreatShadow from destroying it. We fear that it came here to find that ultraweapon and to destroy it, that the traitors learned of its existence and warned the GreatShadow. Yet we also compute that the attempt to find the ultraweapon, let alone to destroy it, failed. Trouble is that we fear that the GreatShadow gained enough data to get a better idea of how to find, and to destroy, the ultraweapon which may not actually be a weapon at all, or at least not as human mortals know a weapon to be."

At least there was more hope in such a discovery but also more to be done and more challenges to be overcome.

Fallout Alternates One 38.1 [50]

The Absorbator, at least one aspect of it, moved carefully along a utility tunnel as inside semitransparent sections of it creatures very slowly dissolved. It would seem a terrible thing to do except that the 'victims' were at peace and they were not really victims at all; they had been contaminated by the actions of an aspect of the Palelord along with three Palemen. A great, brilliant, very brutal supermutant behemoth commander had led an army to that place in the International Mall in WashingtonCC. He had been betrayed but had somehow escaped, though injured, from the terrible fate bestowed upon many of his kind.

The Absorbator absorbed knowledge from the world around itself and also materials at time. As soon as it could it would start to clone-birth the entities inside it but they would be as the young of their kind. The Absorbator had a curious kind of pleasure at what it did and an odd sense of fulfilment though it really did not know its real purpose and had no interest in learning what that was. It gained knowledge and that knowledge was sent, somehow, to the GreatBalancing.

Three shaperbeast cubs had encountered the Absorbator and, spooked, had fled before the great entity could assure them that they were safe; they were not contaminated, by the GreatShadow's powers, and so it would not have even bothered to try to absorb them. It suspected, vaguely, that it had not really spooked the cubs but that the cubs had picked up the disturbing presence of the GreatShadow and had mistakenly linked that to the Absorbator.

It came to a great pool of mildly dirty water and took a long drink for nothing in it, including the rads, could even start to hurt it. Mutated living things were carefully filtered away back into the pool, including microlife. Then it was sucking up into itself the contaminated, desiccated, body of a Paleman; were not even such as the Palemen safe from the growing madness of the GreatShadow? Apparently the answer was 'no'. Still it was a good find and the Absorbator found the flavour of such contamination to be delicious.
