Fallout Alternates Zero 8.1 [51]

A great herd of shaperbeasts, with shapernoids in some of them, are welcomed into the CCSanctum; they have been transformed by the GreatBalancing, through the orb-entities, for that is what has always happened with such matters. The orb-entities retain their own level of 'powers' and abilities; they can alter things, even life, to a much smaller and localised fashion. The cubs are welcomed into the herd now with the attitude of all shaperbeasts being more positive and they having gained greater awareness.

Smallish, singled wheeled, claptrap robots are spreading across the Wastelands in expanding numbers. They can be quite annoying and only their armour, speed, self defence weapons and canniness allows most of them to survive. The source, of the claptraps, remains a mystery for the moment.

In the LSComplex, of the CCSanctum, a lower secondary level of the 'museum' is revealed and opened up through the big horizontal floor gate which is a VaultTek elevator. The new section expands the museum by a whopping eight large levels with thousands of display cased items. The great majority are every day items and a fair few are valuable artefacts but not 'exotic' as in alien or super scientific or other such things. For example arrays of canned food stand close to Ming vases, a small sailing vessel called the Marie Celeste, a rich child's power armour, status field preserved French Restaurant meals, basic mannequin androids dressed in fashions of the 1920s US Prohibition and medieval chess sets made of stone, bone and clay. The strange organisation, of the exhibits, hints at a coded message or more than one. Yet the wealth of information, of impressions, is a gift to Wastelanders.

The XFiles Investigation Agency becomes the Investigators of Steel as a semiautonomous faction to the Orderhood of Steel. They are also linked, more directly, to the Lyons Sisters.

Reyna, the mother of the Lyons Sisters, their brother and three triplets, vanishes from the LSComplex but does not very cleverly so her absence is not noted for some days. The Order of Investigators immediately starts a search for her, with the help of others, focusing on the rest of the CCSanctum. This is because evidence is soon gained that she has not left the CCSanctum but has headed 'deeper into' it. The LS-Superclones, and FEARIUs, are very soon involved in the search though only one superclone is directly involved. That is SarahEle!

The Mechanicist, and the Antagonizer, cease their battle with each other because it has become a damaging stalemate. Others do not even know why the conflict started it in the first place. The fortified settlement of Canterbury Commons enjoys peace and greater security.

The brutal, canny, intelligent behemoth Marshal Smashlunge enters LifeVault-083. The supermutants there quietly pass over command to him though he is still deeply injured from barely escaping the treachery of the GreatShadow. He did not come from that place but knows much about it thanks to encountering, and recruiting, supermutants from there. There are four other factions in the LifeVault and each, like the supermutant one, controls an area but there are also mystery areas where none tend to even go near. This is because of their terrible reputation.

The Mysterious Stranger, as one as many that are one, continues to seek after Giggle's parents.

Perhaps realising that its badly kept deception has been undone, the TransEnclaven openly states that it is allied to LASNet and, through that network of network-systems, to Skynet. So why did TransEnclaven forces retreat to the renamed Alaskan TransEnclave?

The very first edition of the Wastelands Enquirer is published as a newspaper being cheaply but toughly made with articles, columns, comic strips and other features; it also has advertisements. It soon becomes very popular because it actually is quite reliable with its news; even older issues soon become much valued partly because of its valuable general information and survival hints.

Fallout Alternates: One 39.1 [52]

They came towards WashingtonCC as a great airborne fleet of aeroships, airships, aeroplanes and other flying machines. They flew through a dreaded zone of Doomlands, almost the worst kind of Wastelands though thankfully uncommon. They were once part of the Brotherhood of Steel but now there were many elements as melded into one crazy conglomerate known as the Enclaven of Steel. How old enemies had become merged into a tight loyal alliance was a question that even they found hard to answer. With them were humans, supermutants, animans, androids, cyborgs, shaperbeasts, smaller type dragons and a few other exotics; the dragons only flew for short periods for distance flying was not their strong point.

They brought with them many refugees but they, themselves, were refugees coming from what had once been known as South America and which was now known as South America. They had left behind a large, well fortified, Steel Enclave facing a terrible threat coming from the south where lay the mutated Amazon Jungle.

Actually it was a combination of threats under the control of one central, monstrous, threat.

Hopefully either a bigger, better, refugee fleet could be sent far south or even reinforcements.

Field Marshal Fleet Admiral stood eccentric, tall, powerful in the bridge of an aerobattleship being one of eighteen production prototypes completed, in secret, just before Doomsday struck. The aerobattleship SS Skychampion was the second biggest but there had been aerofrigates, aerodestroyers, aerocruisers, aerosupportships and one aeromulticarrier being the only one bigger than the aerobattleship.

The man had been surprised that most had survived the centuries, following Doomsday, and that the Enclaven of Steel had gained use of them through the forming of mutually beneficial alliances. FMFA patted imaginary dirt off his amazingly fancy looking power armour left shoulder. He was almost prissy about his appearance and had other eccentricities that could be very annoying; yet none had ever matched him as a commander, at least none that he had gone up against.

The GreatDevouring drove before it armies of monstrous radarmyants being soldiers, soldier-workers, flying drones, catapult-soldiers, scorpion-soldiers and other castes; there were also massive radipedes of multiple legs, distorted cyborg insectoids, insectamans (hybrid human-insects), fanatical human followers and too many others.

They were left far behind or hopefully so was the case. In just a few months the GreatDevouring would reach the Steel Enclave.

FMFA was painfully aware that his SkyArmada was badly in need of repair and that it was likely they would lose aircraft and that smallish outposts would need to be established. The Steel Enclave was not in much better condition. He was still doing sums in his head when the orb-entity zipped into the big chamber and halted in front of him and his big working console.

FMFA grin-smiled. "Well, hello, gorgeous! Its about time you lot showed up. Agreed!"

It was enough! Thirteen orb-entities, as aspects of the GreatBalancing, began to fix up the SkyArmada as much as they could, as they had just recently done for the Steel Enclave at the top of South America in the area known as Columbianta.

Fallout Alternates: One 40.1 [53]

A naked, but well concealed, Sarah Lyons found herself gliding through the skies over the Wastelands, above WashingtonCC, looking down with amazing sensory perception of the mindeye. She saw, smelt, heard, felt and more the bleakness of the landscape dotted with surprisingly green areas of mutated plants and two big rivers filled with life. There was the Congressional Parliament, over there the White Castle of the President, there the former watercraft museum of ships now making up the settlement of RivetCity, there a great hospital, there the grand mall where she had first started the crazy adventure and exotic experiences.

She noted a Reilly Ranger's Platoon moving through a partly collapsed former women's hospital and she effortlessly diverted a group of genuine supermutant marauders away from them, they being from LifeVault-083. The 'RRs' did not even know they had been saved from a savage firefight.

Sarah Lyons guided a group of hungry scavengers to where they could find a hidden basement chamber complete with active status storage containers, SSCs, full of well preserved food, drink, medicine and other goodies. They also found there other resources such as facilities, a few weapons, stimpaks, a 3DTV and much else.

She kept moving, gliding through the air, drawn to something though she did not know what that might be. Something stirred inside her and then a rainbow coloured, chubby muscular, female baby of small size was there. The Rainbowbaby was pressed up between naked Sarah's breasts. The small one kept viewing the Wastelands with much fascination.

Then they were dematerialising, vanishing back to where they had come from which was a most interesting place.

Fallout Alternates: One 41.1 [53]

SarahAta Lyons sat with Solar Federation President Paul Armstrong in his office along with the pale faced woman, Zenatala, who was in truth a cyborg being his personal assistant, bodyguard and lover. The SL-superclone spoke from her somewhat fancy chair that was identical to the one that Zenatala sat in but less fancier than the one that the president was on.

SarahAta spoke. "A future alliance between the Solar Federation, and certain Wastelands Factions, could be of much use to both partners. There are surprising resources, to be found on the home world, that the SolFed would find very useful. A treaty would be very useful."

Armstrong looked thoughtful. "The Wastelands Factions could join a new Solar Federation Alliance; it would come down to the same thing. As it is the Belters have become full members of the SolFed and not just members of any alliance; the same is true of others newly arrived at SanasTerminus, a vast new resource for the SolFed. Not all are happy to see the JunkSlummers, or spacestationships, join us but many more are. The spacestationships can be put to many good uses by being upgraded in multiple ways. Any idea of the SolFed helping the Wastelands Factions, more directly, runs into various obstacles. The primary ones are the need to deal with the Solar Confederation, fake or not, and the need to deal with Skynet."

SarahAta spoke. "The need is to save the enslaved people on Mercury from the living hell that they are suffering from."

Zenatala spoke coldly. "That is not a strong priority for the Solar Federation though it would be a merciful act. It would draw too many resources away from the more immediate, and demanding, concerns of the Solar Federation."

Armstrong frowned. "I am afraid that I must support Zenatala in this, as harsh as it might sound."

SarahAta looked thoughtful. "How long have you had this secret link to such very advanced androids as Zenatala is who is a biosimulicant being more advanced even than a simulicant. Only a tiny percentage of solar system folk even know such as biosimulicants exist. My faction is one of them and indeed we have a handful of functioning biosimulicants as citizens."

Zenatala turned quickly to Armstrong. "As citizens?"

SarahAta nodded. "Of course! All androids have some level of citizenship. Biosimulicants, and simulicants, are citizens while replicants are semicitizens and duplicants are protected subcitizens for all have at least basic true artificial intelligence."

Armstrong frowned. "The Solar Federation protects androids but does not consider them as citizens. How do you know about Zenatala's true nature? I hope that there has been no security leak."

SarahAta sighed. "No and you should be happy about that since you are also a biosimulicant. I take it that you are trying to achieve citizenship for your people."

Armstrong shook his head. "No, we are secretly building a spaceship to take all androids and others, who are aligned with us, to Androidia that is a vast secret supercity hidden in the Belt. Belters are android dominated; in that place only androids can be full citizens while fleshies can only be semicitizens at most. It is the best way to protect android rights. Humans are happy there."

SarahAta shook her head. "No, in Androidia humans are slaves who live as so called subcitizens except with less rights than what we call subcitizens have. Also Androidia is one of the Jovian Moons."

Fallout Alternates: One 41.2 [59]

The pair of biosimulicants pulled advanced laserpistols out with amazing speed and aimed them at SarahAta but she just smiled calmly at them. She spoke just as calmly. "Please meet some special friends of mine!"

Three orb-entities entered the chamber, zipping through the air. After them, looking a little battered, came the real President Paul Armstrong. It turned out that the only 'real Zenatala' was the biosimulicant. He appeared quite calm for somebody who had been abducted, interrogated, imprisoned and impersonated; for just over three Terran months he had been imprisoned but then he had been rescued by suspicious humans backed up by simulicant androids.

The real Armstrong sighed. "The irony, of this situation, is that all SolFed androids will now be granted citizenship as based on the 'model' used by some Terran Factions. Other peoples will also gain such reforms including smart-robots. You will go to Androidia in a ship as provided by the Solar Federation but Androidia will hand over all so called fleshies to be returned here, including all humans of course, if they wish to come."

Zenatala frowned. "Too late for Androidia has converted them all into cyborgs or have terminated them."

SarahAta shook her head. "The orb-entities got to Androidia before any such operation could begin. They serve the GreatBalancing just as you made some kind of deal with the GreatBurning; that foolish deal allowed the GreatBalancing to make some kind of intervention into Androidia because all of the so called GreatOnes are guided by the Celestial Balances. The big question is, who-what created you and who-what is still secretly controlling you for though you do not know it, you are deeply program-conditioned slaves directed by a very secret faction of some kind."

The real President Armstrong nodded. "Took some hard work, deep digging, and help from outsiders but after I was freed my people, and I, discovered some disturbing truths and also some interesting facts; as smart as you are, you biosimulicants do not really understand either those like humans, humans or even other advanced androids. That is why, on Androidia, even other kinds of androids are enslaved. You fear what you do not understand and try to control or destroy, if you can not control them, anything that you fear. Who-what ever made you also made some grave errors in your design."

SarahAta Lyons sighed. "Welcome to transformation."

Then glowing, shimmering, energies exploded gently out from all thirteen orb-entities in that great area of network linked complexes and other features including the Central Government Sector. SarahAta sank into gentle warm oblivion but this time she was well and ready for it, taking it as an opportunity to have a nice relaxing-rejuvenating break from normal life.

Fallout Alternates Zero 9.1 [55]

Field Marshal Fleet Admiral turned back towards the Steel Enclave and got there much quicker than he had taken to get to his turning back point. This was due to the upgrading, altering, of all of the SkyArmada's aircraft. The aerobattleship, and aeromulticarrier, were enlarged even bigger than they had been as were other machines; androids, and robots, were in larger numbers. Indeed much more than the aircraft had been upgraded, altered. Soon the great flying fleet was coming to the Steel Enclave and it was hard to tell who was the more surprised at the changes done to the other.

The GreatDevouring continued to move slowly, steadily, northwards.

A very changed Androidia joined the Solar Federation Alliance as did the Orderhood of Steel.

SarahAta Lyons, and Lyons Valiant, found themselves returned to the Wastelands but to Megaton and not to the CCComplex. SarahUlt Lyons, and Lyons Vanguard, along with her new forces continue to carry out duties in SanasTerminus. There are exploration, charting, and contact missions carried out as the forces link up with isolated lost pockets of inhabitants of the vast structure.

There is an inkling of the identity behind the creation of the formerly distorted biosimulicants of Luna and Androidia. It is only an inkling being the name of something called the 'GreatManipulator'.

Settlers find the largely concealed NukaWorld and start to settle an outer part of the massive NukaCola based theme park.

Dragons continue to be increasingly active on, around, the Dragon Isles close to the Shadow Continent that was devastated by exotic superweapons during Doomsday.

The search for Reyna, in the CCSanctum outside of the LSComplex, continues but only traces are found of her passing.

The final construction phase, of the famously infamous Tenpenny Towers Complex, is completed being known generally as the Tenpenny Towers.

The Orderhood of Gaia sends a large taskforce to WashingtonCC to carry out many tasks.

Fallout Alternates One 42.1 [56]

The big meeting was going on in the LSComplex including envoys from the Orderhood of Steel, the Orderhood of Gaia and the Republic of Northern Columbia. The Investigators of Steel were represented as were the Exiles of Steel and a fair few other small factions. Security had been tight and some would be attendants had been politely, but firmly, declined entrance to the meeting. They were allowed into the new, growing, fortified CCCitadeltown that was on the outer rim of the CCCitadel.

It was a big, important, event or so was the popular opinion.

Scullie stood nakedly beneath a shower, a semitransparent plastic curtain spread half away across but her husband, Mulder, could see her as he shaved at a mirror-cabinet wall unit.

She spoke. "Lots of diplomacy, lots of factionalism and subfactionalism, lots of nonsense. The saving of the New Republic of Northern Columbia has emboldened their leadership perhaps too much. They have pushed forward the idea of the Orderhood of Steel becoming part of the republic and subservient to the President. The OofS rejected the idea automatically, as would be expected. I don't think the NRNC President gives the idea much credit but he was pressured to put it forward."

Mulder shook his head in mild frustration. "Politicians have not changed because of Doomsday." He changed subject. "I got a report in about the search for Reyna. They found her body in a status-capsule but it had been there for some years. It appears that Olivia was correct when she sensed that something was subtly wrong with Reyna though she sensed no threat with her. The fake Reyna is in some odd fashion quite real. The Other Reyna, as 'they' are now calling her, most likely led SarahEle to the 13 x 13 status-capsules in which they found all were filled with humans, animans, animals and even plants. There are also 13 x 13 androids being simulicants, replicants and duplicants. Already they have joined in service to the Lyon Sisters except for thirteen PreDoomsday XFIA people who are joining the Investigators of Steel."

Scullie nodded. "Olivia's powers are narrowly refined but are most remarkable. Your turn to shower while..."

But Mulder was soon naked and stepping into the showerbath with her. She sighed and turned so that he could start washing her upper back. "Its a good thing we are married or people would talk. Sarah Lyons, what is happening to her? Is the Other Reyna looking for the original Sarah Lyons. I would like to meet her myself."

Mulder responded. "It seems that you got your wish!"

A naked Sarah Lyons stood there, just outside of the showerbath, with the Rainbowbaby in her arms who was sleepily studying the pair of adults in the shower. Sarah smiled absently and then spoke. "The Other Reyna must be stopped from getting to where she seeks to go for she is unknowingly going to do harm. She is far from bad but has been misled, manipulated, by the GreatManipulator; it has been the GreatManipulator who has been misdirecting the GreatShadow and the GreatBurning; the GreatBalancing is beyond its cunning and the GreatManipulator was taken by surprise, as most have been, by the appearance of the GreatDevouring coming from the mutated jungles of the Amazon. I can not afford to meet Reyna directly, at least not for now; the patterns must be played out, followed, properly. I serve the GreatBalancing! We will meet again."

Then she was gone almost as if she had never been there.

Fallout Alternates One 43.1 [57]

SarahUlt Lyons carefully bounce walked, in the light gravity, through the big tunnel of a SanasTerminus area that was not on any of the official maps or in any other form of generally accessible data. As she came to the end of the tunnel, it opening into the great bleak metallic domechamber beyond, she could suddenly see why.

A great thing was there, a glistening blackness of tentacles, bulbs, globs, eye-stalks and other features trapped in a great sphere of what looked like blue ice; it was status-ice. Despite the status-ice, the thing was making extremely slow actions such as twitching tentacles. This showed that it was extremely potent a part of a very powerful entity.

Somehow SarahUlt found herself knowing what it was. "Lyons Vanguard, we have here an actual part of the GreatShadow made physical. If nothing else, this being here could draw the GreatShadow to come into the solar system for it would wish to reclaim part of itself. A very long term, intricate, nasty plot has been going on and this appears to be one of the results."

Then she turned towards the great burning sphere trapped also in status-ice but which was still actively flickering though in slow motion. Again this showed that the trapped thing was a dangerous expression of a potent force.

SarahUlt shook her head in wonder. "A good reason for the GreatBurning to be drawn here."

Then she turned to another globe of status-ice in which buried deeply was a very large orb-entity surrounded by thirteen standard orb-entities. The semiautonomous avatars, of the GreatBalancing, did not move but their glowing patterns slowly changed.

There were three other status-ice spheres.

One was a surprise for it held an ever, slowly, swirling pattern of long tendrils, thicker shorter tentacles and other ever changing shapeforms. She studied it carefully. "So the GreatManipulator is itself being manipulated but by what?"

Another status-ice orb held a large softly glowing rainbow sphere with the rainbow patterns slowly flowing, changing, in an amazingly beautiful fashion.

The last, though, was seemingly empty but there was about it a very subtly disturbing sense of something being 'there but not there', of something that 'existed but which should not be able to exist'.

SarahUlt shook her head in wonder, yet again. "Something tells me that this is not the only such collection of such status-ice partly trapped entities; nor is it just status-ice that traps aspects of them. There is extreme danger here but only of a kind that will strike if we stay too long or try to interfere in what is going on here; we have learned a great valuable secret and it is information that needs to be sent to a few selected destinations."

Very quickly SarahUlt, and the superbiosynths of Lyons Vanguard, withdrew from that place and soon it was being carefully sealed off and heavily guarded. This was mostly for the safety of anybody who might blunder into the place.

SarahAta Lyons, and Lyons Valiant, make a growing Megaton settlement into a homebase. They obtain a large partly underground building, from the Megaton Leadership Council that is glad to have them there, which they start to fix up. SarahAta soon meets, and befriends, Moira Brown along with a few others. She, and Lyons Valiant, start helping to fix, even upgrade, aspects of Megaton.

SarahUlt, and Lyons Vanguard, continue to explore the area of SanasTerminus close to the chamber of status-ice spheres. They find chambers filled with mostly standard, expected, stuff but a few more exotic items though nothing overly so.

SarahEle, and Lyons Pride, continue to search for the 'Other Reyna' who seems to be heading to the 'core' of the CCSanctum. They are now in an environment that is unlike anything normally found on-under the Wastelands. The area is of off-white marble like material except for dull silver doors, vent grills, symbol dotted signs and other such features. The doors never open, the symbols are either easy to understand or incomprehensible and through the vent grills flow air as any vent network-system might.

In the LSComplex people have been using the SVR-capsules to play the Elder Scrolls game for entertainment, training and other reasons. They turn out to be very popular.

Burning-entities clash with gangers fairly close to the settlement of Rivertown, across the Potomac River from RivetCity. The heavily armed gangers are bested as their ammo often explodes and they suffer from other effects of jet flames and heat beams. Many of the gangers are at least lightly burned but stimpaks deal with that well. Except that one ganger burns away with what seems like accelerated spontaneous combustion.

The Alaskan TransEnclaven is oddly quiet, as least as far as outsiders can observe.

The infamous TenPenny Family bans the Wasteland Enquirer from the TenPenny Towers but it is so popular that editions are smuggled into the heavily fortified, guarded, establishment. The reason for the ban is an article linking the TenPenny Family to the criminal DCSyndicates and to a string of murders along with other dark crimes.

The first Emperor of Man takes the throne beneath London in a great shelter complex there; Emperor Arthur Glorious I declares the existence of the Empire of Man though so far it only dominates about a third of what was England. The 1st Legion is established but its only duty is to guard London and the GrandLondon Complex.

3Dog forgets a lesson of the pass and jokingly speaks of having a broken electric jug. Soon the 3Dradio station is being flooded with electric jugs as once it was flooded with electric toasters. The other studio people are not impressed with him and 2Kitty gives him a 'good talking to'.
