zyg0tic
I think the game is easy but I still die now and then from the rare bad decision. So Im wondering if anyone has beat the main quest and a significant portion of the rest entirely on master difficulty without dying at all. sarnz
Try master without using blacksmithing / enchanting and tell me it's easy!
PsYchotic666Joker
^it's easy...considering iv made it so far to 41 and yet to even level those skills up, same goes with alchemy ;P
CaptainChaos
I'm playing master level since the first hour. I die a lot and at 40th level all my perks are in heavy armor, shield and one handed. I don't die nearly as much anymore but i have to quaff many a potion. everyone talks about how enchanting, etc. really screws up the difficulty. Is that true? I have maxed out nearly all offensive and defensive perks, and bought some enchanted armor, but really haven't made anything too powerful myself, and have a 400 armor but that only gives you a couple of shots against opponents even like Falmer. And the ancient cold dragon (despite me being a nord) kills me in 2 cold breaths or 2 bites, or 1 of each.
zyg0tic
Enchanting only screws up the difficulty when you have it maxed out and are putting two insane combat modifiers on all of your gear. It becomes such that only very few enemies pose a challenge. I havent been doing that. Last time I was killed by a bandit chief with a shock damage mace - I chose to fight instead of run away when I had no heals. I think it would be best to study all of the possible options for building a character that isnt totally reliant on potions for healing and defense - although I really like alchemy and it earned me huge gold. Pathetique
Honestly, master should be balanced to be difficult to with maxed enchanting/smithing. They're so easy to level and can be done early into the game. Yet, I still kill people in one-shot with stealth openers. It's an odd dichotomy between certain monsters (random deathlord) being insane fights that threaten to one-shot, and everything else being one-shotted. aguliondew
With this patch the mages and dragons will one shot you. Even if you are a dark elf with fire resist gear. If you are planning on doing master without death you have to not play a warrior. Theives can easily sneak around to kill any one, while mages can stagger mobs on every cast. CasperTheLich
my female darkelf is a monster. legendary enchanted dragonscale, 2 legendary enchanted daedric swords, legendary enchanted daedric bow & arrows. i use her as a stealthy melee fighter. in a straight fight she can more than hold her own against most enemies. or mobs of them. however, she still dies from time to time. mostly being surprised by an ancient dragon in a very bad spot. even with resistances if you can't maneuver you're still toast. on master at least. I’ve been playing her for nearly 200 hours. She’s at lvl76 right now (not easy to do I assure you)
