darkcreep
I am level 30 playing on master and game is geting boring cos all is geting too easy. I didnt level up any smithing, enchanting or alchmey yet. As i hear if i do that then i screw up difficulty even more. But thats takes away part of the game which i cant play atm. So i say ok let ppl play on master have fun with it np, but give me nightmare difficulty pls, pretty pls. What i would like to see on nightmare is some of this: 1. no fast travel2. horses dont help u fight3. dragons need to be way harder4. fix companion leveling with me5. give poison less dmg but let them stay on wepon longer6. all spells leveling with me7. leveling health gives weapon damage, deasise resist and armor8. leveling magica gives magic damge, magic resist and magic block(low percent of reflecting spell)9. leveling stamina gives wepon speed, poison resist and chance to dodge10. more tactical play mobs and player get vulnerable to fire if they wear heavy armormobs and player get vulnerable to ice if they wear light armormobs and player get vulnerable to electricity if they wear cloth armorwarrior stone makes your hits also drain stamina and slows attack speed of your enemy + weapon damage each time u level uprogue stone makes your hits also drain magic and reduce magic damge of your enemy + weapon speed each time u level upmage stone makes your spells drain health and reduce melee damage of your enemy + magic damage when u level up11. give all resistances cap at 70% (you cant get more, except if u are vampire or werewolf)12. give all starting characters -30% resistance to all schools of magic13. give exp for quests and keep exp for learning stuff14. give mana reduction cap (u cant reduce mana cost on spells more then 70%)15. remove potins which improve crafting skills16. sleepy reduce stats17. hungry reduce stats18. limit potions use during fight on lets say 10 potions19. give potion drinking amimation during fights20. give poison aplaying to weapon animation during fights21. let us have have doubble click side step which uses stamina to perform22. enchanting cap23. blacksmithing cap24. alchemy cap25. way less gold from selling stuff26. costly crafting leveling27. no ingredients in stores 28. make last boss so much hard that u will need to have all craftiing profesions maxed to beat him29. make last boss so much hard that u will need to have combat or magic maxed to beat him30. make creatures and dragons more vulnerable to one magic schools and more resistant to all others and we have to find out which ok mybe just some of those:) others can be moded latter. Igetbabes
ok, 1. these will probably never happen. (unless modded)2. (28 & 29)you know how long and boring it would be to have to max out all combat skills AND crafting skills?3. (12)why do all characters have 30% resistance to magic?4. (13)how would you get xp for finishing quests? this isnt fallout but on the other hand i do like some of the suggestions, like 1. no fast traveling3. dragons need to be harder11. resistance cap16-17. hunger and sleep depravation25. way less gold from selling stuff
WarKirby3333
most of these are various balance changes that definitely don't belong in a seperate difficulty mode. some of them wouldn't even make the game harder, but easier. i think you should rename the thread to "my half-assed list of stuff i want" :P

Guest MajinCry
Is it really so hard to use that adv-lvl command in the console whilst your character is still earlydoors in such a way that your around 1/3 of the level of everyone else? Or, dare I say, use weaker equipment!? The horror!
totalwarman
Made some house rules, like start from beginning if you die. Or delete All the saved games.
Tardivex
I like some of these ideas but you didn't mention something, wich in my opinion would make the game far more harder, a smarter/better AI, I mean seriously, wheres the "radiant" technology where enemies adapt to your skill level and get harder? But no, here's what they did: "Okay so the enemies do X damage and have X hp here... Mmm let's call this one apprentice, now lets reduce both values by Y and we have novice, and let's boost those values by Y, Z, W and we have adept, expert, master, hmm hmmm... PERFECT!" Not! In my opinion that's sort of a lazy way to make difficulty highter, theres lots of aspects to it, including those you mentioned, but seriously, we are in 2011, it's the fifht TES game and still no better AI? Sigh...
darkcreep
@IgetbabesI would give -30% resistance not +30% resistance at start. That way u would real need to work on it. @othersWell ye its me the spoiled gameplayer wanting stuff, some stuff are only game improvments not making game harder, but realy imo there should be even higher difficulty level to select.Smarter AI is also good idea. Just give more ideas how to make game harder, if u have any  Edited December 3, 2011 by darkcreep

Sigh... I totally agree. There's a mod out by Plutoman101 that adds some features to mobs that increases the difficulty, spell casters with heals and every humanoid with potions. It seems to be the start of what we're both looking for. And to the original topic, once I get around to finishing the game I plan to have a play-through under Hardcore mode rules where I only have one life and if I die I'd have to restart at the beginning. Vagrant0
Harder ≠ Die More Harder means the game being much less forgiving in regards to all actions. Not just encounters, but things like scarcity of materials, rate of leveling, effects of spells/potions, amount of boosts you get per level. But here's the problem. Having to attack things twice as much doesn't make things more fun since most people just fall into using some exploit to kill, or it just means more standing there chopping away for minutes while gulping down potions. Dying more doesn't make things more fun since you're constantly having to replay the same part over, and over, and over, and over, and over... Until you either get bored, get frustrated, or change the settings back. I had my Oblivion setup to where most everything could kill me in a few hits... it got tedious when dying to stupid things (like companions hitting you with arrows/spells/weapons). Anyway, this is likely something that will have to be permanently modded into the game. Not only are some of these things only possible through mods, but also because of the way that difficulties are even setup in the game. The difficulty slider only changes what it changes because it can be adjusted at any time, no matter what is happening or where you are, so sweeping, involved changes aren't really practical with that sort of system.
