This topic is not JUST about me, its for anyone to post their problems here, about basically anything. I will help to the best of my ability, and I bet others will as well.

Now, to business. I dont usually have problems that I need to ask about, I only ask when I am COMPLETELY stumped. My problem is (spoilers):

When I speak to the second intercom before the overboss fight, the guy who speaks first or second line crashes my game.

I have no idea how to fix this.

I have removed every mod that has been a proven problem, installed patches for most things I hope/believe.

Some more helpful info: Had no problems with transit, I have fully removed valdacil's sorting and dont plan to install it again for the time being, DEF_UI is gone completely. Validated files, full on desktop crash with no help why.

Inspect your in game data menu item, how many cells have you entered that contain a truck load of quest stages..left undone?

Your script limit is most likely reached a level that calls to shared assets to those scripts. Papyrus is stack-able and if too much is there, waiting to be completed, it will CTD and not leave behind any records to find.

Go back one or two saves and finish off any uncompleted tasks.

Thanks for getting back so quick. Its definitely not uncompleted tasks, because the only quests I have are the current one, prestons quest when you speak to him in sanctuary, vault dlc quest, and automatron quest. That is literally it.

 

Edit: Used console for level and fast traveled to a safe house mod in the closest town to that border.

open the nuka DLC, go to that point of engagement of where the issue lies..use xedit to confirm all assets across horizontally, in the tab bellow after you click on that "topic" look for a connection or what else references that point of action, see where or in what mod touched the references, finish those first, this will clear up the in game running quest stages.

The fix is not to edit any thing, but to complete something forgotten. It's waiting to finish and the data "IS shared", it must use the main master file "Fallout4.esm" as references.

 

you would be supersized at how some things are real simple but can not be found. These issue stump the biggest minds going, seems there are no answers because they can not see what hidden. The base game needs to be completed first. that's the bottom line.

 

A DLC is add on content.

I've encountered even worse, just today. I started a new game, built my character's face, talked to the Vault-Tec rep, ran to the vault after the alert, got on the vault elevator with hubbie and kid and when going down, the moment the transition into the vault must occur, boom, CTD... (v1.7.12 with all DLC)

 

In the two days before, I've started 18 different games because I all of a sudden (also with a new game) had a happiness bug at Sanctuary where it got stuck permanently at 50%. The 18th time I said "sod it" and continued playing, until this afternoon when I still decided to start a new game and eliminate a truckload of mods and also install some new ones... and that's when I'm getting the CTD, over and over again...

 

Funny thing is that I can load the saves from the previous game with the happiness bug, despite 14 plug-ins are missing and that my last save was in the middle of a huge Raider headquarters of a mod I uninstalled? That save loaded without a glitch, but a new game crashes all the time... beats me...

 

I'm about to give up for a while until the Bethesdians release an all in one game with hopefully all their bugs ironed out... I got over 5000hrs in the game in nine months time, so I think I'm ready for a break.

I gave up 3 days ago on Fo4. Parked the hard drive, took it off line, and bought a new drive. Formatted it NTFS 32bit windows 7 pro.

installed steam, noticed steam did not list most of the games I have downloaded as freebies. all other games listed as not installed.

I installed only the tools sections for some of the most popular games, telemetry is very little now not hogging up my band width any more.

Fo4, assets shown by the ck lists missing? well I have discovered where those assets came from. They came from us, all of us.

After seeing that...I had enough. Bethesda has done things that no longer peek my interests.

 

you want those missing assets, you will be required to down load a million tools sets from all the histories from their publishing's that 3rd party tool makers made to assemble them.

 

Opinions: There was no need to program this game in this way just to hide what they used. You find out by digging in to things that seem weird.

No more tracking here, I shut it all down.

Even Rage is simple enough, a better game for what it is, more challenging too. They made their money. That was the point. The Nuka DLC does what its' name sake means...Nukes your game. Pretty much it. DLC conflicts them selves, Nuka is a rewrite of the master and cancels out every thing in between. NUKED !

So really quickly, I want to say thank you to everyone who assisted, but I managed to figure out the problem. If you want to fix the problem like I did, What I did was un-install all my mods, before the crash point, then add them by nexus mod manager categories (if they are setup for you). Then you want to check after you have done that category, and if you have a lot of unassigned mods like me, then you add them by their starting letter or number, e.g all the a's, then b's. if you have a lot of one category, add half, then the other half.

I feel sorry for you, and I wish that I could help, is their anything you haven't tried, such as uninstalling the game then re-installing, or anything similar like that? And, I'm assuming you have mods, so try my tactic I put up above, to find the problem.

Enjoy the game as best can be provided it lets you.

Kicking back and watching all new posts about Nuka's effects on other mods and the main game in general, writing a comprehensive review based on those. There is no rush as Sony's deal fell through. Current plans that are built into this game was-slated for that deal, so we may be seeing more updates to undue the damages caused by wishful thinking on the part of this publisher.

 

You solution is the norm, always has been. I truly wish I could do more for you and others but the code is what it is. we wait for the "hopeful" repairs yet to come.

 

I am sorry I could not be more constructive about the problems occurring with this game. But, I don't think I'm alone in how I see things, my point of view is just mine, but reflects others on par.

 

Maybe in a few months time I will return to this game if there are improvements from the publisher.

Tried everything I could think of, except throw the kitchen sink at it; I rent the place, wouldn't want to get into extra costs :D

 

I even reverted back to the 1.7.9 version thanks to a back-up I keep (got several of those) and no dice -even with just the DLC (minus Nuka World) and some stuff like ENBoost, ShadowBoost, SweetFX, Vogue ENB and the right version of F4SE running through Bilago's Configuration Tool- I can play up to the point where I go down into Vault 111 and when the picture fades to black and the music dies out to load the inside of the vault, I CTD, always and again at this exact same moment.

 

Only playable stuff is that crooked savegame with the happiness stuck at 50% (although those saves were done with v1.7.12 they load without a glitch under v1.7.9).

 

Only other thing that happened was that now -with going back to v1.7.9- I somehow lost my vanilla Furniture menu in WorkShop mode. Tried the fixes from the Snap'n'Build mod, but they don't work...
