Can Anyone Help Me Add Two Fixes to My WET Mod Please?

Recommended Posts

Long story short: I have made some similar fixes before, but it was a struggle due to my terrible HDD I decided to keep for some reason after my upgrade (will be buying a new one in a few months). I only experience this in the CK and not the game. I did a search and someone was having a similar issue where it seems to be maxing the HDD speed constantly, crippling the system.

So anyway, I need two fixes making if anyone can quickly load up two cells and help me:

1. Forest Grove Marsh

Someone made a video for me.

2. Here!

It's basically just snapping the water planes back into position with the tools.

If anyone can help I can do an even better update for everyone. Full credits will be given.

My mod is here:

Just use the WET.esp for editing.

Thank you.

I think that's a vanilla bug. I found the same issue in the same spot while working on Beantown Interiors. I thought it was on my end but I'm fairly sure it's not.

Yeah it is, but people seem to love my previous fixes as the Unofficial Patch team usually concentrate on other areas/take a lot of time due to other commitments.

I'm assuming here that the gap in the video is causing the player to walk under the water (the water is just not aligned properly and needs manual movement and snapping). I'm not certain if the water planes are part of the precombined meshes system, but I don't think so. I think, before, I have only fixed water by changing the water type in the cell (cells which cause slowdown, but have not caused me to not be able to edit them). This was done via the cell menu and nothing needed to be moved manually.

There are four water tiles that are in a group not a Pre-Combind mesh, I noticed this when I was working on my mod. TBH I'm not sure exatly how groups work they are not SCOL's but hitting Ctrl + G creates them and I think it also breaks them up.

I know exactly where your talking about Beantown has a interior that is in that water half submerged. I first noticed the bug because I thought I had created it by accidentally moving the water myself. it took me a bit trying to clean the error out in xEdit before I checked in vanilla.

I'll give it a shot and see if snapping the tiles fixes the issue.

Wow just Wow! this was an incredibly stupid bug! the default water height was 400 something in the issue cell all the surrounding cells had a default of 1300 so instead of adjusting the one cells height to be correct someone just plopped down 5 placable water tiles which could never snap to the other cells water.

I fixed the issue by setting all the placable water to "Initially disabled and adjusting Wasteland -15,-4's water height to 1300.

I will PM you the file soon. I did a really hacky test and want to redo it cleanly so I don't accidentally bug your mod.

Haha! I would be shocked normally, but with Bethesda, anything is possible! This was the Forest Grove one and not the other smaller one, yes (I honestly have not played in a while)? I really appreciate you Chuck, thank you for all your help; I'm sure quite a few people will be happy.

I am meant to be asleep now, but someone's house alarm just went off for two hours and my head is ringing. ;D. I mean... :(

Edit: Text and sentence fixes.

Well it turns out I was wrong! (don't tell anyone!) o_O

I was only looking at the water and the gap not the bigger picture of the surrounding landscape. It turns out the placable water was necessary because of the Lock from the river to the ocean. Raising the default water for the cell fills half of the lock with water. The Placable water in front of the Lock is a unique form and mesh it's not a square like most is is shaped to fit the doors of the Lock.

I tried some tests with other placable water to see if I could then swim and I couldn't. It seems that the placable water is the issue and not the gap. I'm not sure how to proceed with a fix on this one.

sorry for jumping the gun and getting your hopes up.
