esiotrot291117
When you skin an animal in Skyrim (or take away its antlers in the case of deers, elks, etc.) there is no change on the animal itself. It still has its full coat of fur and any other body parts you have removed.Making a mod that actually changes the texture and mesh of an animal after looting its corpse would be a very successful one. I will try my hand at it but I can't guarantee any significant results. As of now, I believe that only changing textures is possible (proven: when you remove a Briar Heart from a Briarheart, the texture changes to show that the heart is missing). I suppose it involves some sort of script and I am only a beginner when it it comes to these matters.Nevertheless, I will attempt this mod but I strongly suggest someone else take my place, as I have larger and time-consuming mods in mind. buffcode
Very good idea. If you ever played Red Dead Redemption you could skin the animals leaving a skinless corpse. It was quite grim, leaving fleshy masses of animals all over the place! Same thing should apply to if you fire ball/ ice ball something to death then it should appear charred/ icey. I cannot do theses things myself but there is a lot of talent out there...
razorpony
The craftybits team is currently in discussions regarding primitive crafting implementation in Skyrim. Skinning animals is one item on the agenda. RP
BonKerz22
I see this is quite an old thread. Anyone know if this has been attempted yet? Having Red Dead style animal skinning in Skyrim would be amazing for immersion.
AlienSensei
Yep, this is a REALLY old thread but I decided to post here anyways, as creating a new thread wouldn't be any better. This is a must-have mod which I would love to see. Great idea, always very immersion braking to see the skin is still left on the wolf.
Strokend
It doesn't even have to be so specific to the items you're looting--Just make it so that if you loot the corpse, even just for a garnet, it changes to it's "looted" appearance.
Gonji89
Hunterborn is pretty interesting. It uses the cannibalism animation for skinning and looting an animal corpse. Leaving behind bloody bones after skinning/field dressing an animal doesn't seem too complicated. Like the mod that leaves behind bloody remains when you cannibalize a corpse, the modder would just have to make bloody animal skulls. The parts are already in Skyrim. Just need some retexturing. I'm learning how to mod now. If I can, I'll take the challenge.
