Kalimni
Decapitations might scar young children. Young children might attempt to imitate finishing moves. But what's the logic behind removing blood? As for the last part of your post, I agree, absolutely! Choices are great, and if someone feels that mod is right for them or their kids, then that is there choice and it is good that they have that choice. Removing the blood isn't really necessary. It really just needs to be modular, for the most amount of customization. Besides, some people have an aversion to blood. They can see all the dead bodies in the world and not flinch, but drop some blood on the floor and they go all white and pass out.
Ghogiel
Young children might attempt to imitate finishing moves.Remember watching Wrestle Mania, dunno 3 maybe, back when WWF was real, and then the entire neighbourhood of kids on my block had a tournament... Banging heads off lamp posts and everything. I know we imitated it. I got the scars to prove it , no one dies though, a couple stiches and a couple knock outs. We made Championship belts and everything out of cardboard magic marker and tinfoil.

LiamFarley1998
Wow my brother is a serious idiot. I apologize dearly for that outbreak. My view on videogame violence is that it is a reality and shouldn't be hidden. As someone said people don't hide alcohol from their kids so why do it in a game. If anything I think you should make being "evil" more severe. Basically, less bandits and the so forth and higher bounties (basically 100,000 for murder) as well as greatly degrading skills if you go to jail. I thing you might find it a good idea to put emphasis on consequences, instead of actually disabled bad acts. Make it so alcohol, lowers your magicka by 10% for every drink and disables regeneration of stamina and/or health for a while. The way things are, I disapprove as with my brother of hiding sexuality. Women in the game aren't wearing anything worse than what you'd see on a walk at the beach. I like the idea of this mod, as maybe a heavy RP Focus mod. Basically you live an adventurers life but maybe can just act like a civilian. Become friends with people without danger and the so forth. Slightly in the form of the elder strolls blog. Making it a world that you are merely an ordinary person in. Something that a child would like. Another thing that would be problematic in this, and is the sole reason I do not let my young sister (4 years old) to play, is swearing. Even though there isn't anything severe, you here a variety of swears including but not limited to "flirt and *censored*". Some gameplay elements such as cannibalism could be traumatizing to a child of young age. On the contrary to me juvenile sibling I see this mod may have potential to make skyrim more of an adventurous escapade, than a grand battle for survival. TheRagMan
we must give TOOLS to OUR children to REACT life ...not hide them in fairy tales.
Kalimni
How does cutting the head off an NPC prepare anyone for anything? Unless you are training you child to be an executioner in a third world country maybe?
Rennn
I'm just saying, if you think blood and gore is the most adult thing in Skyrim, you may need to rethink that. I remember my old High School Literature teacher. He'd flip out and threaten people for saying c**p, and he freaked out over people showing too much skin (It hasn't hurt the naturists, has it? I hated him, btw.), but when it came to the terrible rap songs he subjected everyone to, he was okay with three minutes of solid cussing. I have nothing against good rap, but the stuff he listened to was just awful. It was more like dropping f-bombs over and over again in an angry voice, really. The cognitive dissonance is amazing. Just to make it clear, I don't care at all about swearing either. I just don't like when it makes a sentence hard to follow. :) Edited February 3, 2012 by Rennn
Ghogiel
It doesn't. Which is probably the point. cutting their head off or just killing them by roasting them alive with fire would be an arbitrary distinction imo. Setting someone on fire is surely the more cruel and agonising of the 2. Speaking of fairy tales, I think you'll need to change the fire to rainbows and when NPCs die they get halos and float off into the sky playing harps.

Or the dragons picking people up, shaking them like a ragdoll, and throwing away the corpses. It's a mature game. Getting rid of the gore isn't going to change much. You can drown too. That would have to be almost as bad as burning to death, but nobody's talking about getting rid of that. While we're at it, I've heard plenty of people complaining that Skyrim is evil because it taught their kid paganism. We'd better get rid of the Nine Divines and the Daedric Lords entirely. *sarcasm* Edited February 3, 2012 by Rennn
