ookyooky
I have seen mods with replacer and non-replacer options. What is the difference between the two? I suppose this is modding 101 stuff which is why I have not been able to find any explanations in mod posts. One example. The Beautiful Female Enemies mod. It changes the looks of the enemies. So it "replaces" the vanilla looks of the enemy. The non-replacer version seems to do the same. Though they obviously differ somehow. Is there a reason I should choose one over the other? Is there a difference in stability and perfomance? Thanks. Edited September 18, 2016 by ookyooky
Jeir
Replacer = replaces a vanilla item.Non-replacer/standalone = does not replace a vanilla item, only adds things. Which one you choose is up to you. If you pick a replacer of the mod you mentioned, all female enemies will be according to the author's idea of 'beautiful'. If you pick the non-replacer, you will get the old 'ugly' enemies as well as the new ones.
parrotheada1a
Personally I go for the non -replacer or standalone versions of mods if they are available. Reason being is that if they are installed right, you get more choices & variety. It works well for most things ingame.
