  1. This dawned on me a couple years ago. Stuff that's missing from the game. 1. Fire trucks/ fire houses. None to be seen unless I am stinking blind. 2. Police cars. Paddy wagons... We have police stations in the game, right? 3. Construction equipment. Now, I have to wonder exactly how we are supposed to build the taller structures, and plow the earth for farms.
  2. What type of aesthetic are you going for in the clothes? I am very much a fan of classy/ sexy outfits... Since Nora is a lawyer, I do not dress her as a raider or poor white trash for that matter. I have made a couple hundred mashups of clothes from what she wears to work, and then some that are suitable for working out at home. Send me a PM if you like... sounds like what you are doing could be fun. Here's a couple examples of my mashups. Perhaps you have seen some already/ ENH20191129144002_1 by paladina1a, on Flickr ENH20191116182852_1 by paladina1a, on Flickr ENH20191230210906_1 by paladina1a, on Flickr ENH20200101112755_1 by paladina1a, on Flickr
  3. I don't even use F04edit. I build all my mashups in OS using CBBE. In a nutshell, I start with the shoes and a body, then go from there. If the feet do not fit the shoes, I click on the deflate tool in OS and reduce the feet where the clipping occurs. Wearing heels is a different animal whether using HHS or vanilla, as you need a body mesh that has an adjusted foot shape. Look up some of my mashup posts in the photo galleries for examples.... here's a couple..... You will probably have to do a cut & paste https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/166939 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/152858 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/151925 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/166745 Any other questions, shoot me a PM and I'll help as best as I can.
  4. That's what I first thought, but I don't see a way to edit the mesh in nifscope. You cannot do it in Nifskope. Just do it in OS with the mask tool. What you want to do is mask the body, Then invert the mask and delete the vertices. Save the nif and away you go.
  5. @ Grasmann, You should NEVER directly edit and clean master files. It is a complete waste of time. The reason is simple if not somewhat obvious. Whenever Bethesda releases an update, or when you do a content check from Steam, the master files are automatically updated and or reset to default parameters. The only road I know of to consistent decent performance is a better computer. A good sized SSD is pretty much a requirement, as is at least 16 Gb of system RAM, plus 8GB of Vram.
  6. You don't actually need a mod. If you can, do it in the console. Click on the selected npc and open the console......Type in openactorcontainer 1 (all 1 word... do not forget the space!) and then you can see what 's in there. The trading menu comes up, and you will be able to work with that like normal. You can change anything in there, and re-equip clothing, armor, weapons. FYI, if you change a weapon that needs ammo, make sure you add ammo. Companions will chew through it. I usually give regular NPC's 25 rounds and that will last forever.
  7. Use Place Anywhere. It does all of that and is usable for most placeable objects within the game.
  8. I will second this, and add that if you find something that looks good, you can always use it as a base for your own tweaks. The game tends to give you that 'too much plastic surgery' face if you're not carefull.
  9. I will second Moraelin's comment, and add a few of my own. First thing, you CAN get your Character looking just as you like. What I suggest is using a preset that is Looksmenu compatible, as this will give you the largest pool to draw from. The idea is to use it as a base. Just follow the instructions for installation and you should be fine. Oh, not bragging here, but I'll use Mac as my model. Mac is now on her second play through the Commonwealth, and I learned that a lot of stuff is just plain hard to do down in the vault. So you have to do a bit of research in the Character Presets mods section. There are hundreds to go through. If I can emphasize one thing, it's that despite what you see in a picture you are not likely to get it looking exactly like that in your own game. This is simply because everyone has different machines, game settings, mods and ENB/ lighting setups. Once you pick a preset you need to get out of the vault. The lighting down there is terrible and you need to see what you are doing. If you need some help, shoot me a message and I'll do the best I can. So I've been using various combinations of hairs & makeup on Mac over time. I found that using just a little makeup goes a very long way. This is how she looked after getting out of the vault.... and a small tweak here and there. ENH20181106211944_1 by Jim S, on Flickr Cheers PHa1a
  10. IRL, a trip from Boston to Portland ME by car takes about 2 hrs on the highway IF the traffic moves along. Bar Harbor/ Acadia NP is up north another 3.5 hrs, east of Bangor. Ayaaa.
  11. Continuing out back into the woods.. I had to move a lot of the bigger tress out away from the house because the branches were clipping through the walls. This view is from behind Mac. looking towards the graves and back of the house. ENH20180819143947_1 by Jim S, on Flickr All these trees and brush plants were hand placed. If you plan on building something similar, bring wood & fertilizer. ENH20180819144250_1 by Jim S, on Flickr Out near the rear door is a Torii Gate. The Japanese aesthetic fits in so well her IMHO. Thanks to AWARHERO for his mod... the lights get used the most. ENH20180819150508_1 by Jim S, on Flickr ENH20180819150754_1 by Jim S, on Flickr The lighting back in there is superb.
  12. As I am updating this I'll show off some new things that went in. This update is all about landscaping & trees. I have fallen in love with the new Creative Gardens mod by frogprincessQ4and what it brings to the land. More trees and groundcover than your vid card can handle. This area is poly dense already. More than a few types of trees in the mod will bring your machine to a crawl if you are not carefull. The best thing about the mod is the quantity of flora to be had. Time spent in the woods has taught me that there is a huge variety IRL, just not in the same 10 foot square parcel. ENH20180819130840_1 by Jim S, on Flickr This a is just an overview. I took out or moved many of the brush & trees that were originally there... replaced by CG pieces. ENH20180819131105_1 by Jim S, on Flickr Out in front of the small greenhouse (now barely visible) is a grove of bright green trees of various sizes. ENH20180819133754_1 by Jim S, on Flickr All of the small flowering bushes add to the scene. I used perhaps 3 different colors through the whole area. ENH20180819143911_1 by Jim S, on Flickr The barrel is there just as a marker for the edge of the build area. This whole section was almost stripped to bare ground.
  13. Right. A good sized pic will definitely help. I've found that issues like that more often than not are caused by ENB settings. Sometimes the fix is simple. Other times...... YMMV.
  14. Well this will be kinda quick. I will not have to go so far for the turf part of dinner. 15. Okay... make sure you stay to the left here as the stairs have a nasty first step. Once we get past them it's where we started up here. Follow me to the left. Out here is my workout room. Lots of natural light in here even though there are some curtains. ENH20180817222856_1 by Jim S, on Flickr If you turn to the left again, you can see the upstairs entrance that leads out to the balcony. Hang on here a sec, I need to check some laundry while I'm here. ENH20180817232220_1 by Jim S, on Flickr The balcony has gone through some changes since I first began. My hubby took this shot of me a couple weeks ago while I took a snooze. 20180415110330_1 by paladina1a, on Flickr From up here, the view is very nice indeed. I can't see over the hill down into Concord... which is another good thing because there isn't anything for the raiders to be interested in. ENH20180817232515_1 by Jim S, on Flickr Sometimes raiders or other assorted forms of life try to get down to the bridge on that side of the river. ENH20180817232706_1 by Jim S, on Flickr Oh jeez, I can see a deathclaw walking around over there. Let me get out the .50 and see what's up. ENH20180817233030_1 by Jim S, on Flickr ENH20180817234940_1 by Jim S, on Flickr So I guess I have to cut this short. Behind me here is the entrance to the old bunker underneath the main house. We use it as a shelter when radstorms blow through. I'll post some pics of inside at another time. Now I need to go get changed out of this dress and go find that deathclaw. 16. The bedroom is a cozy place for sleeping and getting ready for the day. Since Mac has become the Mayor of Sanctuary, she has found that the residents don't bother coming here. It's a good thing. ENH20180817230642_1 by Jim S, on Flickr ENH20180817231554_1 by Jim S, on Flickr This little sitting spot in the corner of the house was the very first part that I did interior decorating on. No curtains here so the natural light comes in The view out to the river and pier is really good. ENH20180818145105_1 by Jim S, on Flickr ENH20180818145235_1 by Jim S, on Flickr
  17. Let's head up the stairs. At the top if you turn right is another reading area, Mac also put the home office in this space as well as a sewing table for all the clothes & dresses she likes. Checking out the view from the upstairs windows... it might change some if I put some trees outside. This is all above the dining room. ENH20180817223207_1 by Jim S, on Flickr ENH20180817223406_1 by Jim S, on Flickr ENH20180817224151_1 by Jim S, on Flickr If you go through the doorway just to your left there is the main bedroom and aesthetic chairs. Makeup, haircuts... things like that. I keep a supply of medical supplies in here too. ENH20180818144619_1 by Jim S, on Flickr ENH20180817224407_1 by Jim S, on Flickr
  18. Moving on, Mac is going to take us through the main house. At the entrance... the terrain around here was very complex, hence the high foundation and stairs up to the various levels. ENH20180817215234_1 by Jim S, on Flickr Just inside you look a little to the left and see the main dining room. Mac, Ellen & MacCready pulled out the nice table settings for this. ENH20180817215502_1 by Jim S, on Flickr The view from the dining room windows isn't so bad. This may change if I can add more trees and underbrush outside. ENH20180817215735_1 by Jim S, on Flickr Off to the right of the doorway is a small reading area. ENH20180817215945_1 by Jim S, on Flickr And when you turn around, you see the house's shop area. Most of the usual work and crafting stations are in here, as well as some storage for weapons, armors and miscellaneous stuff. ENH20180817215831_1 by Jim S, on Flickr Headed out past the stairs is where the kitchen is. There's a small breakfast area that everyone uses when they are not out on the upstairs balcony or the pier. The sunrise & sunsets from out there are not bad at all. The back door to the house is just beyond the computer desk. 19. Here's the rest of the tour in a couple different posts. I used NAC + PRC for the ENB, with the Ultimate Immersion camera preset. Meeting us at the front entrance. Some of this stuff will get changed. I'm planning on remaking the front door with stained glass and changing out the porch light on the wall to stained glass also. 20. Currently playing F04, and my Takamine.
  21. Thanks for that. More to come, including interior shots. I have to take some new screenies during daytime... home improvements.
  22. (continued) Here's a wide overhead shot from the river, this was just after I built the greenhouse. The pier would stay this way for about 6 months. ENH20171228134240_1 by paladina1a, on Flickr And here's the new pier just after I rebuilt it. The old scaffolding and ramp was a pain to navigate in the dark. I kept the original layout and made it wider. ENH20180211180225_1 by paladina1a, on Flickr Tail end of a radstorm. The bunker would eventually be used as a radiation shelter. Too bad we couldn't have a geiger counter up on the wall down there so you could come out when it's safe. ENH20180215194300_1 by paladina1a, on Flickr
  23. I finally put together a proper house showing. Hope you folks like it. First thing.... This wouldn't be possible at all if it were not for all the talented people who mod the game and share their work. THANKS SO MUCH!! Secondly, I do not plan on releasing this as a player home, simply because there are far too many mods involved and permissions required. The house itself is built above the SHS bunker, and it is not connected to it from the main house. The structure is two floors, with a greenhouse and a fishing pier. These pics were taken as I went along, some things have been changed as I installed or updated mods. Feel free to check out my Flickr pages, to see the full size shots in 1080p. The first batch is from early on. I should point out that I live in the Commonwealth IRL, and Concord is only about a half hour away on the highway. I tried to make the place look only somewhat authentic. 24. One thing that bugs me with some images overall is that they are taken in dark places. Doubly so when a mod author is showing off a face or some new clothes & armor . I mean, what's the point if you can't see it properly lit?
  25. It's very easy if you are using Outfit Studio (OS). What are you trying to make?
