SpecticleCozart
When I look at the enchantment window, I see ench amount. What is this for, and what is this the Enchantment value I see in weapon windows? Also, seeing as how enchantments have gold value, where do I go to find and possibly change this value? isra
This is off the top of my head but I believe "ench amount" is the gold price of the enchantment and the "enchantment cost" is the amount drained every time the enchantment fires. So for example say you made a new enchantment and the "enchantment cost" was 20. Then you placed that enchantment on a sword and gave the sword a value of 200 in the "enchantment" field. That sword would have a total or 200/20=10 charges. Ten hits and it would be drained and require refilling with a soul gem. If you unticked auto calc and changed the enchantment cost to 1, it could hit 200 times before being drained. Note this only applies to weapons as armor and clothing don't use charges. Edited for typos, freaking touchscreen xD Edited September 18, 2016 by isra
SpecticleCozart
I set the ench amount to 1, ingame price for the Iron Dagger was 387. I changed the value to 1000, but the ingame price stayed the same. So I still have no clue where the enchantment gold value is or what ench amount does. azraelb
As far as I know, if you check the checkbox 'Auto-Calc' the amount of charges and charges per use were calculated automatically based on the effect(s) you choose. If you de-select thze checkbox you can set them manually e.g. set enchantmentcost = 0, to create e.g. a sword wih firedamage that never runs out of charges... SpecticleCozart
That doesn't explain what Enchantment Amt does, I've changed it and have seen no differences in the amount of uses in the enchanted weapon.
dalsio
I'm a bit late to the party but if you still need to know (and are still reading this thread) a weapon's enchantment amount controls how much it can be enchanted by the player. So, you can only enchant an iron weapon with so much power on your own, if you want a stronger enchantment you need both a stronger soulgem as well as a weapon with a higher enchantment amount. Think of it as enchanting potential. It will not have any effect on enchantments given to it by the editor.
