LegoManIAm94
I have made an update to many of my mods and my Needs mod has some GMST since in the Magic Menu you cannot see the details of your current magic effects. But In the esm file there are no GMST what so ever. Why is this happening? I want to clean this mod so people won't complain about it and not be turned down by it. Dragon32
Aren't the descriptions a subrecord of the Magic Effect (MGEF) record rather than the Spell (SPEL) record?
LegoManIAm94
Aren't the descriptions a subrecord of the Magic Effect (MGEF) record rather than the Spell (SPEL) record? What do you mean by this? I though this issue was caused by GMSTs. And the Needs.esm doesn't have any MGEF but has SPEL but only newly added Spells. Dragon32
AFAIK spells don't have a description, just a name. Rather spells are a collection of magic effects. Magic effects have descriptions. So when a spell is cast on the PC the words associated with those little icons are coming from the description of the magic effects that spell has applied. The evil GMST effect which is most apparent (and I remember) is renaming the Seller Max button to Max Sale. That's just cosmetic rather than breaking something. LegoManIAm94
http://s12.postimg.org/bdiy5rr19/Untitled.png This is what I am referring to. In the image as I hover over the magic icons it gives you the details of the magic effect. Now The Needs mod disables the details when you hover over them with your mouse. LegoManIAm94
I think I kinda pin pointed the issue. But I could be wrong. I been going through all of my mods that cause this issue not just needs and I have another .esm and two .esp files that do the same thing and the only thing unique about these mods compared to other mods I have that even include magic and spells in them is that I made these mods later on. I made them either on Windows 7 or Windows 8 and when they save it saves them as Needs.ESP instead of Needs.esp. When I converted it to a .esm it made the file extension lowercase. Im not saying due to the the file extension being capitalized is the cause but I think something with compatibility on Windows 7 or 8 caused this. Dragon32
I don't think a Win7 or greater thing caused this. But then I'm no real expert on these things. Hopefully someone who's more of a modder than me will stroll by. Trouble is with the Nexus is that thread's will get lots of views but very few comments. And most modders hang out at the Bethsoft forums rather than here, here it's mainly players.
