Galejro
Here's a two-parter question regarding copyrights and use of DLC assets. 1. If I have a Vanilla F4 and not own Contraptions DLC is it legal to ask another modder who does own that DLC to extract a couple of models/textures/etc and send them to me for purpose of mod building, which won't require Contraptions DLC to work? My line of thinking is, provision of DLCs for non-owning parties is piracy and illegal, but is it the same for a few fragmentary resources? You know, the idea of demos and samples. 2. If 1. is actually legal, can someone skilled in Bethesda Archive Extractor provide the resources needed to produce firework sets?
chucksteel
This is not legal, you need to own the DLC and Make your mod require it if you wish to use DLC assets.
Ethreon
It is illegal, though what you do with your friends on your PC is your own business as long as you're not sharing it. However, you can have the friend add the DLC requirement on his PC using xEdit, and send you the changed plugin after that.
