bill8872
I'll keep that in mind but I just installed robot home defense which claims it can have bots go out and loot apparently I'm not getting my hopes up yet but in the meantime any more suggestions would be great, and I actually love looting I love walking sims it's just bethseda is the worst dev of all time, by far, I was so happy to notice super hidden stuff in this game then I'm like ok how do I get this out of here ok how do I get this out of here ok how do I get this out of here ok how do I get this out of here ok how do I get this out of here ok how do I get this out of here ok how do I get this out of here ok how do I get this out of here ok how do I get this out of here ok how do I get this out of here ok how do I get this out of here ok how do I get this out of here ok how do I get this out of here ok how do I get this out of here where as in any other game or real life I'd simply have to look at it and press a button but nope not in a bethseda game lolI use Robot home defence, and it's not a loot function as your thinking. It has a robot that scavenges for items, not looting. I think it works like the workshop item you need to assign a settler to. Just without the settler.
Valamyr
Bit of a necro to address the problem mentioned by OP. Since Auto Loot remains the only mod that does this I thinkered with it a fair bit, because it worked splendidly for 80 hours then I was getting really, really frequent CTDs whenever I was trying to loot stuff. More specifically, Fallout's exe would freeze and had to be restarted at a crazy rate. I reloaded an earlier save point, thinking that might help and it did, but I did not know why. I ran into the issue again later and eventually put my finger on the issue: If I have any ranks of Mister Sandmand, the perk, the loot mod would cause crashes in high density areas. No clue why. I do know what removing all my other mods did not help in any way, and that I had none modifying Mister Sandman. By not taking Mister Sandman everything works fine. I have Ninja as well but I can totally live without MS as their synergy was nerfed awhile back anyways so that'll be my solution, just gonna buy other perks. Did take hours of tinkering to notice the connection between these two things. Now there's a strong chance that if you have Auto Loot and you get crashes it it'll have nothing to do with my own experience, but I thought I'd suggest trying that. Remove the MS perk with the console (all ranks) and see if the crashes are miraculously fixed. If a few problem have the same reproductible experience, then perhaps the author will be more willing to look at it again, though there's strong chances its not really his fault. OMFG....... you sir are a ffing legend!!!!! I used to post on fireundubh's page frequently, trying to solve this and maybe he never took that series of perks so thought we all were out to piss him off as he took it off both the nexus and steam workshop, then stopped the forum bit on guthub for bugs..... I have no idea how you managed to track this down, but having stopped playing FO4 because of the frequent CTDs (i'd just got used to the flawless one for Witcher 3), i was looking around to see if he had posted any updates and this thread came up... I have just had a massive firefight with BoS, raiders, rust devils, picking up throughout and had not a single crash!!! For those who don't know - whenever i was looking at an interactable object like a npc or container when the script cycled it ctd, removing the 3 levels or sandman perks as 'Valamyr' mentioned above, solved it! I would try it if you are having issues, i can't say it will work with you but please post if it does, then perhaps 'Valamyr' may have cracked it! MightyZ0G
if you don't want to bother looting but want lots of scrap, Northland Digger's has resource scavenging benches for specific junk.
Transient3292
you can use console commands to give yourself resources, player.additem 001ec66a gives 1 of every shipment. you'll still have to loot sometimes for things like a biometric scanner or something like that, but I use 001ec66a 30 once or twice for every settlement and I rarely ever need to actually look junk form anywhere, I still do sometimes. but it definitely beats NEEDING to do it to build anything

Transient3292
I read the first few posts of what his problem was, and gave a suggestion, I was trying to help even if it it's not what he's going to use. still more useful than your post saying that it's irrelevant

Considering this is a necro thread.do you know what irrelevant means? he was talking about how painful it is dealing with looting. it seems established that there is no mods that give him what he was looking for, so I gave another suggestion. I was obviously TRYING to help, not derail the thread, so you're either easily triggered or trying to be a dick. And if it was a necro'd thread I didn't notice becuae it's still on the front page, which makes it even funnier that you're complaining about my one post that was clearly trying to help the OP's problem. if I wasn't addressing the original problem, that would be grounds to claim it to be irrelevant.
