Oh lonewarrior, why rock the boat when nothing will come from this? It's just a goddamn game, goddamn it. No need to be a drama queen about it and make new threads about it to pull in attention to your fruitless cause.

I don't use Bethesda forums anymore, unless I get bored and feel like trolling.

I went there and started a post which got locked, then I started another post and it was locked too. Then about four other people started posts and they were all locked. So I started a topic telling the admins to ban me so I wouldn't make the mistake of posting on the forums again.

So, they banned me. So I used a proxy to make another account and then I trolled the hell out of the forum pretending to be some guy with all sorts of problems with Skyrim. Then I started debating with one of the admins in a private message, explaining how stating my opinions/experiences is not breaking the rules. So they cannot warn me or ban me(and they didn't). lol

The irony, is that when I was trolling the forums the admins left me alone. However when I was just posting, the second an innocent topic got even the least bit away from "Skyrim" as the main subject, they would lock the topic.

Even "just for fun" topics about skyrim jokes would get locked and the admin would eplain "this topic is pointless so I am locking it."... keep in mind this was the "general" skyrim forum.

If I really wanted to be an ass I could have just made a ton more proxies and then used them all to flood the place with BS. Revenge is fun

I am of the opinion that admins should be invisible law keepers. There is no reason for them to lock every topic that is not informative if people are enjoying it. They definitely don't need to be smart about it either.

they chose steam. steam is good. it was a good choice.

stop whining about it.

DLC is commonplace in most games now. why hate on bethesda for doing it? it allows new content with additional revenue.

you sound like a spoiled child.

And, "a loyal member of this site" ? where is your premium/supporter tag? or do you think that the site owners somehow owe you something for freely using the service they provide, at a cost?

They chose Steam. Steam is bad. It was not a good choice.

Pretty much everything stumpndum said I agree with.

as far as I can see OP didnt make a petition. He made a list of useless complaints because he had a bad experience or two with skyrim.

Besides its your own fault that you didnt have an internet connection in the first place, not Bethesda or steam.

Bethesda only want to protect their product against piracy ( not that it work, but most gaming companies do so regardless ). If you want to blame someone for the need to use steam for DRM, then blame those who download for free on a torrent site.

The only one who get support from this thread is "stumpndum", mostly because he is right.

Many times pirated software originally comes from countries that the software is not marketed/sold in to begin with. Then someone comes along and hacks it and distributes it legally in their own country.

Personally I believe that DRM is made more to discourage PC gaming in general than to protect a game... Name one single game whose DRM wasn't broken? However, executives believe that DRM will increase first week sales because it takes time for the software to be hacked.

But what they don't realize is that most people have integrity and if they believe the software is worth it they will buy it. Not everyone is willing to steal just because they won't get caught.

I don't think Steam DRM is draconian or anything. But it is inconvenient. You technically can run steam in offline mode once you activate the game though

The fact of the matter though? ALT+CTRL+Delete and check your task manager... Right now, I haven't even used steam today and it's using up almost 100mb of my ram while in the background/in the quick launch icon.

the only thing this says is that you're not a nice person. Moderators on any kind of official forum are just following the rules laid down for them by corporate. they don't have a lot of choice or freewill in what can or can't stay. they volunteer their time and effort to help keep the discussion a sane place, and you come along being an ass and trying to ruin it.

and i am of a different opinion. i suspect many others are too. Your opinion is no justification for making a dick of yourself and harassing people. You should probably leave this site too, because the moderators here certainly aren't invisible. (<3 vagrant0)

Their company policy doesn't state that they are required to make smart/belittling comments directed at individuals every time they lock a topic. That is unprofessional.

Sorry that I'm not a nice person...blame god, I was born this way. lol

Admins on the Nexus aren't like the ones on Bethesda. I am a libra at heart, so I tend to balance the scales of justice before morality. Since they were douches I reflected that douchiness right back, and in the process had some fun. If that makes me a bad person to you, then I'm just lucky that you are a person in my computer and have no relevance to my life. lol

This topic for instance probably deserves to be locked. lol

I hate steam,

But that petition was ridiculous.

=)

Seriously, "By signing onto my website you agree not to buy any beth products or DLCs for two years".

That almost made me LMAO man XDDD.

I dunno why.

So we're supposed to sign a petition which basically says 'Bethesda is terrible, stop playing Skyrim, and don't play any [free] mods, and don't buy any Skyrim DLC' and this is supposed to hurt Bethesda more than us? That sounds like kicking myself in the face for no reason. A couple hundred people won't even warrant a glance from Bethesda, and there's no way that you'll get more people with a petition like that.

Not only that, but way too many people pirated Oblivion, and it wasn't nearly as popular as Skyrim. What did you expect? That a company could use literally no security systems and hope to survive? Besides, if you're such an ardent supporter of this site, why am I higher ranked than you, and why are you not a premium? I joined all of a month ago.
