OnlyOneWing
Don't activate quests. All activating a quest does is give you the arrows. Simply press J and in the journal deactivate your active quest. You can complete quests whether they are active in your journal or not. darkjedi73200
I always see people wanting to turn this off. I'm wondering how you get any of the missions done? Do you just wander around aimlessly tell you find what you are looking for. Do you have some notepad next to you that you log down everything a quest giver is saying. I'm honestly just wondering.... or is it more for the dungeon crawl so that you don't feel like you are just being lead?? I really am curious about this.

I then turn off all markers and only look at my map again if I venture across any friendly NPC's who "tell me" where I am. I find that I still get my sense of adventure while also being able to complete quests. In saying that, it can be frustrating when you don't find any friendlies for a while but can be quite entertaining to find out just how off track you can end up! I really am curious about this. Most quests that lead you to dungeons are pretty straight forward, the item you are looking for is either on a major enemy or in an obvious location. Enemies you are looking for to kill are even easier. There are few quests you can't complete without the quest marker that are of that sort. So yeah, it's mostly just wandering around. But the dungeons are very linear so it really isn't as tedious as it might seem at first, as I said, and the locations of the quest targets are usually very obvious. Rennn
I keep my compass off at all times, though I have a secondary tendency to peek where I should be heading if it takes more than an hour to find one guy within a town! I hope someone can mod in some books and dialogue options (non-voiced, of course) that tell you where people and places are...
InuyashaFE
It should be in your gameplay option, deactivate floating markers or something like that.
