I was just looking up how to get rid of the dumb enb overlay and in enblocal.ini I noticed it says [MEMORY]ForceVideoMemorySize=falseVideoMemorySizeMb=4096 is that limiting my titan in any way or does this line not really matter and that's why there's no warning with it? if I am supposed to change it, are there any other mods that might do something like this that I need to change? also what is the correct number for 6gb please if it does matter and should I put the general 6gb or find out exactly what my card has and use that

Set the line from False to True.

For the next line, VideoMemorySizeMB=, it depends on how much combined RAM you have. My GPU has 8GB and I have 16GB of system RAM. That's 24GB in total. Rule of thumb seems to be to retract 6GB from this total for OS and background programs, which leaves 18GB that would be accessible for the game.

But, I've read somewhere that ENBoost can use a max of 12GB, so that's what I filled out in the enblocal.ini (12288MB).

I forgot to reply yesterday and it's a good thing I did because I didn't change that from false to true lol phew, I just came back to mention I just got my first infinite loading screen but I guess it wasn't due to this obviously haha

I have a 6gb titan and 16gb ram so I'll set it to 12288 also thank you both gonna try it now

just to be sure is there anything else that affects this setting? and most importantly, why is this being done from a random graphics mod?

It's not a setting as such, in that ENBoost fools the game into thinking you actually have the amount of V-RAM you filled out in the enblocal.ini which of course allows the game to use System RAM as V-RAM. FO4 became a RAM gobbling monster as Bethesda kept tinkering with the game to allow their DLC to function properly and spikes of over 10GB are no exception in denser areas like Boston Common.

If you still should experience stutter you can also have a look at ShadowBoost

Also check Hein84's Vivid mods. They are retextures (no plug-ins involved) which use vanilla sized meshes but at far greater quality while at the same time smoothing loading and thus gameplay...

The reason why we're having these spikes is simply because the game is very badly optimised. Adding graphics mods with high polygon count or HD 4K textures adds to the problem.

Hence the reason I'm only getting an average fps of around 30 (unless I'm using Xtreme CinemaX preset and then it goes down to around 21-22!) on an R9 280x
