chucksteel
Ok, I have built a player home somewhat like Home Plate, I've set up the workbenches and power. All works well I can craft, go into workshop mode and do anything you can do in Home Plate. My question is how do you set up the power to be connected with wires? I place my bendable splines, set the linked ref to my workbench and give them keyword "WorkshopItemKeyword". when I go into game the wires are there but they aren't powering the connectors. I can store them and then attach new wires and the power grid is up and running. So, any clue on what I've missed? Thanks for any input. Edit: I have been testing on a clean save from before entering the interior. I load and COC to it because it's not yet connected to the world. Edit #2: Now that I think of it when I place my splines I don't think they are actually getting connected to the powerbox or transformers. I'll have to test in game but I think I can move the box without the wire following. I kink of remember the original CKit placed wire just floating in air after moving the box and attaching a new wire.
zilav
It's a mysteryhttps://community.bethesda.net/thread/12493 Edit: There is a "Power Grid" element on references, try to play with them. Check existing vanilla power grid elements. Edited September 22, 2016 by zilav
Ethreon
I saw this discussion back on beth forums. Don't know if they reached any solution either.
damanding
I would love to figure this out too because I want to place a decon arch outside at Home Plate, the one from Wasteland? DLC. Why would Beth not give us the ability to power things from CK? :wallbash:
chucksteel
Just read that thread it doesn't look promising. Seems you can force the connection in xEdit but still have to do some messing around in game for them to work. I'm going to try to copy/paste then cut/paste from Home Plate and see if that is a workaround.
zilav
They didn't try to add "Power Grid" to refs, I believe it defines the real power connection.
chucksteel
Oh yes I was going to look into that too, i do appreciate the info and should have mentioned it. the Cut/Paste idea was kind of a last resort that popped into my head. chucksteel
Thanks for the info, I'm glad to see Home plate is in there but it seems to be all the settlements with power from the start. I am taking a little break been messing with my home since 6am but I'll report back my findings.
chucksteel
Zilav was onto something with the power grid, By adding all the connections for the Spline, Power Box, Conduits and the power grid on the workbench itself I powered up my cell. The problem is still that the splines are not attached and need to be connected in game by selecting them with the activate key. Not sure what to think now. Edit: I forgot to mention the Power box an Splines are not being marked as Persistent by the Ckit. I had to manually set their flag in xEdit.
