I was gonna add other pics because it seems to happen more and more the longer i play. Like I had a follower and later i turned around to see if they were still there and the armor was all purple and untextured.

Not sure why this happens, really breaks the immersion

Few fixes i found searching the web.

I used to have get those purple textures all the time and then getting booted to the desktop every 15 minutes, but I finally found a fix for it. I read somewhere to have the game run on 2 gb of ram and it will make it run smoother, so I downloaded Large Address Aware (LAA). Look up a video on how to use it, it is a life saver, game never crashed again, nor do I see anymore purple objects anymore! Thumbs this up if it works for you as well so more people see this fix

It has happened to me twice, many textures were replaced with purple versions, but saving and reloading fixed it. Not sure how to fix your problem unfortunately

Yea I usually get this when I've been playing for a long stretch. Quitting/reopening steam generally fixes it. If that doesn't work, Verify the game cache in steam and that should fix anything

I think it may be some sort of small memory leak that worsens over time, but usually just closing and opening Skyrim again fixes it?

I did use LAA and have for a long time now

I'm not sure if that helped a lot

the two things i did do i stop crashing [or reduce to to every 3 hours or so] you're gonna have to pm me for because it's lengthy

Lengthy  . my Brother had an issue like this he told me about and it was with one of the stormcloak quests - having a memory leak until it was finished. Did about the same crash every so many minutes - purple textures on ps3 though.

Haven't experienced it and about the only solutions i found / know of.

The problem generally occurs when your GPU runs out of VRAM. Using the console command pcb (to purge cell buffers) or restarting the game will reset it but you'll eventually come up on it again. Beth could fix this through more efficient shared RAM calls or the card maker with new drivers and the gamer by doing "Clean" driver installs. (Never, ever use "Express Install"!)
