chrislovesfallout
Hi Guys, I'm trying to learn how to create cool custom textures and no better way to learn than to jump right in. My texture looks cool but as you can see from the picture i created my self a problem. The texture loads just fine but there is now a box around the shield? Why is this happening?http://i41.tinypic.com/r7n71f.jpg
Ghogiel
The texture probably used an alpha channel to make the mesh transparent, the painted design I guess is like what one might call a decal texture, the model is actually a square, it just uses alpha transparency to make look round by making a cut out in the alpha. I'm sure I am not describing that right, but the answer is get the alpha channel from the original texture, or make something of the equivalent, then save your texture as a DXT5. Thank you, all sorted now.
Rennn
Nice shield! It has a pentagram and stuff. I don't suppose you'd be planning on putting that up for DL?
