Merton26 Posted December 7, 2011 Share Posted December 7, 2011 I went from 0 issues in 1.1 to controls and lag issues in 1.2, to my first CTD in 1.3. After rebooting, I'm now stuck with the game crashing every 5-10 minutes. Come back and join me with V 1.1 getting lonely :biggrin: So many issues i hear about, game works great atm. no crashes, bugs fixed by a few tweaks found, everything else seems good/playable. I just remembered that I had a full backup file of the 1.1 days I made before I added some mods; loaded it up and stuff works again! I absolutely refuse to use steam and have all internet access to it blocked unless I have to use it. I hate having it auto patch my games That would not be legal, and it wouldn't work in any case because all of the patches after 11/11 change TESV.exe so that it requires Steam to run. /sigh I suppose I have no choice but to suck it up and use steam. Pissed at Bethesda for making this game only for steam on the PC, and for releasing a game that doesn't work on the PS3. Not only did I waste money on the PS3 copy, I was forced into using steam get over it, its not a complete abomination, like you and others are making it out to be. I am still on 1.1 and have very few problems. I wonder if when I do update I can go straight to 1.3 or if I will have to install 1.2 first? DorkDiva Posted December 7, 2011 Share Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) Only issue I am having with 1.3 is that I cannot fast travel to a location anymore the farm outside Riften, it just CTD's, and hopping Mammoths in the streams(they walk super slow and hop up and down for some reason in a couple places, it's actually kind of funny to watch), otherwise it just seems the same minus the 24/7 flying dragons. Don't feed on the fire here. I've had virtually no problems since the start. During my New Vegas days, I hated Steam with a passion. I still don't like the wall they put up between me and my purchase (that model just cannot last), but my problems have been non-existent. I am still stubbornly offline on Steam too. Well I must be extremely paranoid too because since Steam is offline permanently and officially blocked in my Firewall. Not a problem though because I'm using 1.1 before the evil ,extra DRM nonsense. Skyrim is also backed up on an external drive, so no BethSteam Ninja Shannigan Sly Stealth Update is ever going to break my game again. Just a precaution. :laugh: No updates for me until the organ grinder and his monkeys are no longer in charge of patch nightmare updates and Beth hire some qualified QA staff.
