Getting CTDs during combat.

I've been getting CTDs during combat. Began in Concord got one when I shot a bloodbug. Three CTDs doing the quest there. Then I CTDd three times fighting the raiders on the USS riptide, I couldn't hurt the super mutants near Diamond City (bullets phased through them) So I reloaded and went towards Tenpines bluff, Killed some mirelurks at a quarry with no problem, but when I attacked one of the ghouls at the trainyard I got a CTD.

My game mostly runs at around 60-50 fps on Ultra

This only seems to be happening with this profile right now, My game usually runs fine on my main one.

Any advise?

Sorry for my absence... the nexus didn't seem to email me when anything was posted.

I run True Storms perfectly fine on my main profile, would it be any different?

Thank you JimmyRJump! I'll check out those two mods, I didn't know Hein's stuff actually lighten the load, I tend to steer clear from "vivid" mods.

Though, I also came across a post made by Fadingsignal in the DLC Leveled List Integration mod.

He says:

"I just wanted to add a contrary voice here. I prefer to manage all of my leveled lists by hand so I know exactly what is going on, so I wouldn't consider it a more caveman way. It's more advanced if you want to get technical about it.

If an item is added via script that can say, crash the game when spawned on a certain type of enemy, tracking that item down and removing it would be nigh impossible if it was added via scripts.

Overall leveled lists are a PITA for those who want to plug-and-play, so I TOTALLY understand wanting that, but my general thought is 'why not both?'"

Could this be happening to me somehow? The only mod I have that should do this is Grenade Expansion Pack. I'll try out try EMB boost and Dynamic Shadows, but I would like to know what to do if this script method may be screwing me up.

Thank you for the responses so far!

I have use Grenade Expansion pack. Never had an issue with it. But it's possable it did not install correctly.

The comment you found is somewhat correct. If a mod changes the leveled list to spawn an item you do not have the meshes, and/or textures for, it can cause a CTD as soon as you encounter that item.

In my case lately, an incorrectly installed mod had lead that item to be invisable instead of the normal CDT.

I sometimes CTD during battle as well and I can generally tell when it's a video card problem (GTX 720 potato) vs other type of problem. It usually happens if there are lots of NPCs on screen, explosions and/or lots of particles on the screen. Basically anytime there's a LOT of graphical action happening very quickly. The faster and the higher quantity of stuff is moving across my screen the more likely it is to happen. So if you're experiencing it in those kinds of situations, then as Jimmy said, vram is your likely problem. If that doesn't describe your situation then yeah, continue looking at mods as a potential source.
