Catallaxis Posted December 8, 2011 Share Posted December 8, 2011 Players shouldn't be able to instantly consume food and potions from the menu; food and potions should be equippable items. The ability to instantly use potions from the menu is stupid and unbalanced. Food and potions should be equipped to either the left or right hand and consumed by pressing the corresponding button. The animation and audio for eating and drinking already exist and merely need to be repurposed; this would prevent players stockpiling health potions and spamming them during combat. The same idea can be extended to ingredients. Also, some ingredients should not be edible, like antlers and hawk beaks (seriously!?) A more ambitious modder could introduce new animations for eating especially large foods e.g. the cheese wheel. Food and potions could be gradually consumed instead of all-at-once e.g. the player could just take a sip of a potion to restore a small amount of health and leave the rest for later. Poisons would be, on the whole, more difficult due to the range of weapons they would need to be aplpied to. Also, poisons should be applied to arrows not bows, e.g. I should be able to poison a batch (say 10) arrows at a time. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
