Imperfections
To get a little more into detail I remember someone created a zombie/robot factory for Fallout NV. With that in mind gives me the idea for a dwarven mech factory where you bring in all the parts required to created our little dwarven spiders and the guards that are rolling balls that transform into full soilders. You can commonly see these machines in any dwarven ruins. On top of that you can commonly find all the required items to make them as well. They even break apart showing you piece by piece what would be required if you want too. Plus it would be nice if someone could make a reweight edit of the Dwemer items as some of them are extremely overweight compared to the size of Dwarven Ingot's. If I had everything required to do the mod and had the knowledge of modding this game I would pursue it myself. I intend to attempt at this a bit later when I get the chance but any help towards this would be awesome. I will try find out all the required parts if need be. phayze81
Similar ideas have come up a couple of times already, including my own ideas for it, but I don't think anyone who really knows what they are doing has shown any interest in getting involved with it. At this time you get a quest to repair the factory and put it to the test. Creating your own mechs.
Draco856
If I had any skill in actually building cells it wouldn't be that hard to find a script or ask someone who knows how to script the sequences that would be needed for the building of the machines. It might be easier to simply find a derelict factory with all ready built machines that were never activated, then find a way to activate them and turn them into a form of companion. phayze81
Hmm, the factory thing is an interesting idea. I think some one suggested something similar in my thread. I was planning to do the crafting at normal forges, but when the CK comes out I'll have a better sense of what I need to know to make this mod happen, and I can figure out from there how to handle the specifics. Until then, if you have any more suggestions or ideas, feel free to post em to my thread. I'd love to see it bumped back to where it might attract some more interest. :D
H4RDC0R3V1B3Z
That would be cool. You gather components from Dwemer ruins, maybe mixing them with normal items you find across Skyrim in replacement of certain hard-to-find parts. Then depending on your Smithing Skill, you could potentially create a Dwemer Construct of varying strengths. Say 50 Smithing would create a Spider, 75 for a Sphere and 100 could create a Centurion? Draco856
I had a bit of an idea, a bit more elaborate then simply smithing the constructs, it just seems a little cheap to simply build them, even if the components are hard to find. Something a bit like this: A derelict factory with finished and half-finished automatons. The finished ones haven't been activated, and if you activate them in their current state they become hostile and attack, so you have to re-engineer them to follow your orders, maybe find a book in the Dwemer language (if possible) that will tell you how to change them as well as construct them. You'd have to find an expert in the language in order to decode it. A series of quests to clear out the capital city of Blackreach and turn it into a fortress against the Falmer, this could be where you find the factory, but it's deactivated as long as the Falmer threaten Blackreach. We can then turn this into a city for Dwemeri scholars, like Calcemo from Markarth, we'd attract scholars from all over Tamriel, so they might study the city and learn about it. Perhaps hire builders (or use the Dwemer automatons) to rebuild the city to it's former glory. We'd need to wake up the dragon that lives there though, and either make it submit and be a guardian of the city, or kill it.
