Top 10 mod ideas (you'll like at least one)

Instead of spamming mod requests I'll just make this one list of all the mods I really want, and think others will need too.

 

1. Workshop favorites- tab in workshop mode that shows favorited items, or possibly recently used items. This would make building so much better rather than going back in forth between categories looking for that 1 item over and over, or when your always switching between tabs looking for different walls or something.

 

2. Workshop collector - my personal most needed. Mod lets you select 1 workshop or container, and all your other workshops will transfer their items to there. No more going to every settlement collecting food, water, junk, or caps. (And no the collection beacon mod does not do this)

 

3. More defense posts- Self explanatory. Post your ideas for guard posts that you'd like! I personally want a sniper tower and more options in general. Maybe some sort of small bunker for heavy gunners.

 

4. Better Institute ending - There's an ending where the railroad, minutemen, and BoS are all spared, but what about us Institute guys? :( An ending where everyone lives, or at least you get to choose who, would be fantastic.

 

5. Mountable/Assignable settlement Miniguns- Be able to place and assign (or use yourself) the miniguns from vertibirds in your settlements. Then jump on it when under attack!

 

6. Customizable Dogmeat Armor - allows you to put mods on armor for dogmeat such as carryweight, Asbestos lining, etc.

 

7. More Survival options - Set what stat is lowered when thirsty, hungry, or tired. It makes me mad to no end that my character for some reason gets stupid when he is thirsty, and I lose xp. If making one where you can set options is too hard, a mod where hunger lowers strength, tiredness lowers charisma (cranky haha), and thirst lowers endurance sounds much more reasonable to me.

 

8. Driveable APCs - Doubt this one will happen but though i'd throw it out there. Mod to make a drivable apc like those ones you see lying around, and maybe even use the turret on top. (3rd person only view, launches grenades?)

 

9. Loot collector - To me there are few things as annoying as going back through an entire dungeon and looting every body, container, and object lying around.This mod would let you loot entire cells at once, whether having settlers come scavenge the place and bring the loot back to a workshop, or some item that puts everything in the cell into one nice container for you. (Again not craftable collection beacons does NOT do this)

 

10. Zombie Apocalypse- Replace every enemy with ghouls. Not add more ghouls, replace. The 2 zombie mods out only add a bunch of ghouls. I mean a few robots or humanoid enemies (raiders, children of atom) would make sense, but not things like super mutants, mole rats, deathclaws etc. You know only things you'd find in a actual zombie apocalypse

 

I know these mods get more unrealistic towards the end but with some of the mods i've seen, anything is probably possible. If anyone makes even one of these I think it'd make a bunch of peoples games a lot better.

A mod I would like to see is one that changes the Vault and Covenant Security armour to look more like the ones out of Fallout 3. Instead of just bland boring cream cardboard looking 'armour' gives us back the black segmented armour that even told you where you where (Vault 111, 81, 75, Covenant).

My mod, Workshop Control Panel, has a feature that kind of does this. It allows you to transfer all items between settlements (via the workbench) that have caravans established between them. The mod also has several other features that you may be interested in.

 

Of course, I've also seen mods that add containers to the workshop that act as ender chests, where all of the same container share the one inventory. I couldn't give you a link though, I only remember seeing them in the past.

So much this!

 

I have so many mods that I only use a handful of items from, and it's just too time consuming to make the changes in FO4edit myself.

 

Workshop mode desperatly needs an edit mode, to let you chose what or what not to show in the menus, with perhaps "show favorites, show mods, show vanilla, show all" types of settings.

I messed around with the placeable minigun idea and actually dont think it would be that difficult, but I personally lack the ck skills to make it happen. Hopefully someone in the future will take a attempt at it :D

LIKE No.3. Especially if turrets were also removed. Defense posts like you describe seem natural enough: sniper/gunner high nest, bunker is even better! If I understand the idea correctly, is is part underground with the door at the back and very narrow windows in front, so it'd be very hard to snipe the guardsman, though you could get him easily from the back. More to that: more traps - pits, spikes, falling log traps - mothing hi-tech, everything deadly effective.

 

No.6 - of course!

 

I think I'd repeat: we need shields! we need spears, bows and throwing knives. Moar primitive weaponry!
