number23scorpio
Hey everyone, my name is James. I have retired from Fallout 4 in the last 5 months after the mod disabling fiasco. However, after getting fed up with Skyrim, I am returning to claim my now fully DLC-equipped Fallout. I wonder whether Beth has lifted their mod ban for the Survival Mode or not? Is it no longer a Beta? If it still is, what is the latest workaround? Any insight is helpful.
D4nks
As far as I know there was never a ban on mods with Survival Mode. I've been using mods with survival since it was implemented.

I have never put the * before my mods, and have been fine. I also have been using F4SE since I started playing. So not sure if that makes a difference. D4nks
I think you still do but any mod organizer will do that for you. Not sure the reason for it but it's not that Bethesda doesn't want you to use mods with Survival mode. I actually forgot that was even a thing,.. The one in which you like need to eat and drink and sleep or you die? Not the Survival difficulty. The reason I asked was because when the Survival Mode beta first came out, whenever I activated my game the Nexus Mod Manager will automatically disable all non-officialplugins, and after I quit the game I have to re-activate all my plugins again. I want to know if this is still the case at this moment, before re-installing my FO4 all over again.
Ondrea
It's no longer in beta, so you can use mods just fine without any work-around needed. And there's quite a few mods created specifically for survival mode.
panurgy
In plugins.txt, in order to activate both mods and DLC, you need to pre-pend the name with a *. Anything without the asterisk is ignored. That only needs to be done once, unless you want to deactivate the mod. NMM and other managers should do it automatically. If you're going to play Survival Mode you definitely want Survival Options (or a similar mod, but AFAIK this is the most comprehensive, and I can testify that it works perfectly) or something similar, and might want Achievements re-enabled, too. The Achievements mod requires F4SE. If for some reason you don't like that, there's another than doesn't. Just search the nexus for "Achievements".
