Yet another group of "suits" that don't understand what modding is, or how it does it. No external assets? So no new guns, no textures (the simplest KIND of mod in the FIRST place), no "overhauls" like grass, seasons, ect. So exactly what are PS4 players left with? Straight up cheat mods and scripting changes? Dear console users, if it wasn't clear to you before, let it be crystal clear to you now, buy a PC and ditch these underpowered boxes.

No script changes, even, since those require the scripts be placed in BA2 files.

And I'm sure "the suits" understand how modding works. They just see the possibility of external assets creating a vulnerability in their hardware as more important.

I'm no Elliot Alderson, but I'm pretty sure it'd be easier to just hack Sony than to sneak a virus into a mod.

All consoles charge a fee to update a game after the first initial update. That is why you dont see tons of quick fixes for none PC games. Sony considers modding the same as development(which it is) and thus would not offer the service for free. Bethesda has agreed to their terms.

Especially Sony's policy always was never to let the consumer to be fully in charge of the hardware being sold. It was that way since the 90ies and it will never change. The suits may understand what modding is, but their policy is to make damn sure that ionly what they commission and what is paid for by license fees make it to their platform.

Same with music as with games.

It's got nothing to do with underpowered hardware but everything with milking the consumer in an additional way.
