Thinking about getting skyrim

I am aiming at your knee right now.

Hahaha.

Inside joke, nevermind...

Are you thinking about getting it on PC? Because that's where it's at, better graphics and the ability to have it modded like mad - new content, enemies, items and equipment, quests, land, buildings and homes... Anyway, Dark Messiah...

If you liked Dark Messiah, the combat in Skyrim isn't as "visceral" and varied as in DM, you can't kick people into fires and do other crazy stuff like in that game (perhaps a combat mod will?). It's more straightforward...slash slash dead. But with a shield you can shield bash which is pretty cool, since you can stagger the enemy and get hits in. Stealth and Archery are my favorites though, it's more interesting than in Dark Messiah. Magic I'm neutral about since attack magic isn't as useful in high levels (but can be modded on PC to be better).

I didn't play DM much. But it was way cool, but don't compare the games. It's old, and honestly pretty ugly now. Skyrim looks damn good, and plays really well. Good animation usually, good story line, and it'll entertain you for months most likely. One of my favorite aspects is the massiveness and open-ended world that Skyrim is. And the fact that you can really tailor how you want your character to be with perks, look it up.

Long story short, just get it. You'll love it, you don't know what you're missing!

hmm. thank you for bringing out the combat system. i did like DM's system. especially the archery. so if skyrims archery is as good or better than thats great.

i can either get it for xbox or PC. i have an i7 2.0GHz 6g ram. so i should be able to run it on pc.

i actually heard that they made it for consoles and ported it to pc? is that true? someone said the console version was better for some reason or another. but yea, console doesnt have the customization of pc which would prolong the lifespan of the game imo.

hopefully they run a deal for the holidays, i would like to get it around that time.

Your pc can run it... get it on PC. Also, check out the pinned thread about graphic cards, see what it says about yours. Don't rely on it too much though, it was saying HD6770 could only run at high... yet I am playing at ultra with a bunch of high res mods, 4AA, and a FXAA injector - realistic Skyrim mod.

The game depends more on memory and ram than video card.

Depends how badly you want mods.

If you don't think you'd download mods (Which to me would be disappointing, that is one of the SOLE reasons I purchased Skyrim (And any elder scrolls game), among many people)

~Get it for a console.

If you are interested in mods (Please be interested, for the betterment of yourself!)

~Get it for PC. You can downgrade the graphics and such (I have a $200 GFX card, and I tone down my graphics settings to make the game run on a smooth 60 FPS) Modders often release things to make the game run better on low-end computers.

I am EXTREMELY biased to getting it for the PC.

But notice, I did not say "Should you get it?" That's not a question. You owe it to yourself as a gamer to get Skyrim. It's one of the best games I have ever seen.
