bandit5 Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 I can't install dragon age though origin I get a direct x error it says direct x internal error. I am on windows 10 direct x 12. How do I fix it.
Wastelander121 Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 I had a similar issue, just copy and paste the directx redist folder from another DX9 game, replacing the one in the Dragon Age Origins folder and then the game should install normally. The DX Redist is apparently incompatible with Windows 8 and above.
bandit5 Posted October 12, 2016 Author Posted October 12, 2016 what games have directx 9.0c I have batman from steam but don't see direct x folders . I downloaded direct x 10 and put them in the dragon age folder and put them in the folder put still got the error. When I installed dragon age.

Wastelander121 Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 That is really weird. Have you tried running Origin as admin before clicking install? The redist thing fixed it for me but maybe you have to run Origin as admin too.
bandit5 Posted October 12, 2016 Author Posted October 12, 2016 I can run dragon age now from the exe in the dragon age in the dragon age folder. But origin still wants too install it for some reason.
Wastelander121 Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 My suggestion for that is to just add a shortcut on Origin to DAO so it will run the exe instead of wanting to install.

Go here & download the June 2010 runtimes to the temporary folder https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 Then scroll down and run DXSETUP.
