HogsMaws
hey all - wondering if anyone can provide insight on getting a mod to use the player default female body? is it just changing the path the mod directs to or something?
Nephenee13
Well you are being astoundingly non-specific. Is this a follower? a custom race? Something else entirely?Without knowing what you are talking about its impossible to give a useful answer.

Nephenee13
its a follower mod pack. GYOT NPCs. I don't know if I have that one downloaded and don't really care to check, but if they use custom body meshes, you can open up the mod archive and you should find a meshes\actors folder, and in there will be one or more folders for the various body meshes the followers need. Find the folders that have Femalebody_0.nif, Femalefeet_0.nif etc etc and replace them with the ones you want. Its not very hard. You just have to poke around the mod's folders a bit. But you should definitely do this BEFORE installing the mod.
ymf331
depending on the mod it'd be helpful to extract batch files in mod organizer. a little bit harder way would be to load the plugin in the creation kit, find the follower in actors, and do whatever you want to it. then you could delete any unneeded resources from the mod folder to save space. What no Thats totally the wrong way to do this. You don't need to mess with the CK at all. You just need to open up the archive, find the body meshes in them, replace them, and package it back up. ymf331
it's the right way to do it if you don't want extra copies of the exact same body mesh in your data folder
Nephenee13
it's the right way to do it if you don't want extra copies of the exact same body mesh in your data folder Who cares? Body meshes are barely half a meg each, even with HDT physics. Its way better to not f*#@ around with the ESPs, and just do straight mesh replacements, that way when/if the mod gets updated, you don't have to edit the ESP AGAIN.
