How to create invisible textures with gimp

So you want the texture gone but its collision plane to stay in place ?

Thanks Mktavish. Your comment ("texture gone") made me realize I could just remove the NiBlocks BSShaderTextureSet and NiMaterialProperty from the chair in NifSkope. The chair is now invisible and still works like a chair in game.

Alternatively, you could have just used the Null Texture set on the visible pieces in Geck.

I tried doing that with a chair in a mod I created a while ago. Placed a toilet then chair in the same space. So player could sit on the toilet.

Used "NavalChair01F" Duplicated making my own base object. Then on the model adding a new texture of "Null Texture set"

But it broke the file ... would crash the game when loading. And would crash the geck when loading the cell it was placed in.

@ Ic1000 .... glad to be of help even though it was inadvertent ;)

You've already got it done now, but for anyone else looking for an invisible chair, I did this a while ago for a request from the forums. It's with my other mod requests here:

Do you have that for Fo3 ?

I haven't tried it, but I don't remember there being any difference between nifs for chairs in FO3 vs FNV. You'll need to make your own GECK entry for it (which I can help you with if you need it), but you should be able to just copy the nif over and use it as-is.

Yep it worked Thanks ... I just put your texture and mesh in the loose folders and selected that mesh on a new base-ID for the navalchair.
