music suited to FO4

howdy,

I wonder what folks recommend as different musics for FO4.

feel free to post from any language background...

what do you recommend as 'immersive' etc?

Inon Zur sure is awesome.

there are several styles of music -

vocal as the 1950s 60s and early 70s, or later songs of that format.

earlier songs also as various propaganda...

A Cappella Trudbol is a great example of that style fitting.

hence also, 'circus music' as much as classical or civil-war era...

much of Doris Day etc.

prog-rock of modern era -

"circuline' "athana/werner cee' "toxzik" etc...

this other style of music is more for combat or environmental...

I would like to see the concept for Diamond City restored -

the theme of Diamond City is 'Take Me Out To Da Ball Game",

yet a damaged holotape version which end creepily.

small children cover their ears as it cresendo slowly as 'GAME!"

parts of the song are missing.

@bmt12

were there any particular titles you though went well?

there is not a worry of some 'immersion' -

it is already a pastiche between

ye-olde style,

and the 'prog-rock'/'screamo'/'grunge' styles.

Prog-Rock or techno-trance etc is more for the environment or battle,

so naughty's thrash work well there maybe

if you enjoyed FO1 and FO2 soundtracks,

Circuline does a lot of awesome stuff hehehe

I feel that music is a personal choice, and hit and miss at that. I liked the western theme of NV, for example, but the radio tunes of FO4 are a massive turn off for me. Repetitive BS about someone's grandma playing the lottery even makes hip-hop seem great by comparison, and I don't even like hip-hop.

Personally I use my own mix of epic-ish tracks from Paradox games and whatnot for the ambient music, and my own metal mix for Diamond City radio and Radio Freedom. Oh, and Amon Amarth singing about viking raids, death, pillage and destruction is just PERFECT for the raider radio, as far as I'm concerned. And it explains better why that radio terrorizes the seven shades of shite out of the nearby villagers :tongue:

Though, mind you, even the other radios in my game are predominantly themed around a mix of norse stuff (e.g., Twilight Of The Thunder God) and H.P.Lovecraft Historical Society carols (Cthulhu stuff, basically.) I feel important to give those villagers some religious moral fiber, and, hey, they have a choice of looking forward to be sacrificed to Odin or to Cthulhu. Put some fear of the old gods in them, I say :wink:

@Moraelin

well said! :thumbsup:

it can be very subjetif as to what people enjoy.

to find what other FO4 players enjoy as some music,

it is awesome!

so many discuss or inbox,

and maybe it is that less the 50s jams, or a direct livestream

ingame, and some other mix which happen.

so many of the other stream which are out there,

it is quite narrow in the playlist.

Amon Amarth - that is definitely going to play in some cell in game.

do you use a particular mods, or do you set volume = 0,

and use some other streaming?

Someone inbox to me that 'charlemagne' with chris lee, and some wicker tree -

excellent suggestion!

@johnH5N1

thank you for inboxing!

you send to me, a link to tim stoney...

'lost melodies of fallout' -

that is some great stuff,

and mesh well with

werner cee/athana, circuline, toxzik and all.

is there any more stoney 'lost melodies', or just those 4?

@all

thanks for the continued musical suggestions -

the eclectic taste is what makes fallout fun,

and you learn something new every day -

it is making FO4 a lot more fun, and more options for in-game mod

as opposed to some streaming or so.
