thisfoodisfake Posted December 12, 2011 Share Posted December 12, 2011 im trying to figure out how to get a new sword model i made into the game. i am using blender version. 2.6 and GIMP and nifscope. i have a great scimitar mesh in blender, and made a very rudimentary texture for it. i have no clue how to make good textures from scratch, so if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome. google is failing me. so the next step that i cant figure out at all is how to make a collision mesh for it. i cant find out how to do that anywhere, its all for different versions of blender. the next thing i cant find is a plugin for blender 2.6 to export as nif. where do i find that? sputnik421 Posted December 12, 2011 Share Posted December 12, 2011 You have sorted out the texture maps for your new sword, and have the collision mesh on it with the right collision specified don't you. I found NIFscope almost as much of a pain to get to work as the mapping when making objects for FNV. The GECK was also there to help me get the models into the game, you need to know the consle numbers to get stuff into the game before the CK comes out. thisfoodisfake Posted December 12, 2011 Author Share Posted December 12, 2011 i tried to do the obj. thing, and the mesh was black. but it did work when i did it with .3ds. thanks for that tip! ill check out the tut too. the texture i had didnt show up though even though its in the texture thing in .nif. yes i do have the uv maps figured out, its the collision i cant find. ill keep fiddling! Ghogiel Posted December 12, 2011 Share Posted December 12, 2011 collision from 2.6, as with anything directly exported to a nif is no go atm. There is a new compressed block in the collision, and afaik nothing can make a custom one. You could try other collision shapes found in previous games and see if they work...
