KurganSPK
I've got a perfectly good regular skyrim install with 255 mods that's working fine and looks better than SE.. yet I'm spending my time reliving near vanilla skyrim with visuals that are better than the original's but not as good as a well-modded skyrim. I guess I just can't help myself from toying around with it when I know I should wait a few months and give it a real go then. At least I'm encouraged by the better perf potential - new cells load much faster with mods than with the original for me. At least from the activity around the launch I'm not alone in my "sickness" lol. I wish I had better restraint though...
DoctorKaizeld
What's Wrong with Me?everything. but that's what makes you a unique human being and gives you the ability to stand out in a crowd. dont look down on your weirdness! embrace it man! on a serious note. it's no big surprise, they only upgraded the engine to the fallout one. once more mods come out things will smooth over. there's a chance the game will look even better then regular Skyrim with mods does once some good mods for the special edition are released. gaultjohn
Looks around. Wanders over to the Mr Coffee machine. I'm messing around with the 64 bit instead of enjoying the stable 32 bit and heavily modded version as well. Figured it was time for an intervention. Crimsomrider
I prefer SE a lot more than regular and I spent 1500 hours on the regular version. Not to mention I immediately noticed the difference between the two. The problem is, most noobs on Steam are comparing modded Skyrim with the non-modded Special Edition. Mark my words, Special Edition will look and perform a thousand times better when it gets heavily modded. I personally am also going to be modding Skyrim. I already have an armor mod in mind that I want to make.
Dracula420
i was going to type a well thought out response but i just realized frostfall and campfire are already out so.....yeah.....laters. seriously tho OP i am having the same problem. i decide to mod the world a bit differently with this version and to try to keep thinks a bit simpler since my PC can barely run the game lol. i went with Open cities rather then waiting for JK's Skyrim to be redone (if that even happens). and i am finding i like having to version to mess with. Goghor
Since it's now 64bit, pack everything into BSA format, loads faster than loose files.
blessingwindwalker
Yeah, I'm vainly trying to get ENBoost to work so I can use my fav texture pack.Well, I guess I won't be seein' that beauty anytime soon. I had my Skyrim game just the way Iwanted too. Why do we do this????
KurganSPK
LOL all! Well, I am very encouraged by the perf boost with SE - I'm getting 90-100 fps with about 20 mods installed and cells load in a couple seconds. (with the occasional odd dip in FPS that can't be explained - just like in the standard version for me.) On same machine with 255 mods in standard version I get 20-40 fps with an ENB in 2560 res. And it can take minutes sometimes to change cells. (1080 GTX, Win 10, 32GB RAM)
