What is your least favorite thing about Skyrim.

The repetitive (and inappropriate) sound bites that the NPCs say when you're close to them (and by close, I mean within 50 feet). Because of that, I think it's made me loathe a lot of the voices as well - the Nord male voice that sounds like Arnold Schwartzenegger, the male voice that sounds like a Used Car salesman (e.g., Belethor of Belethor's Goods in Whiterun), etc.

Not to mention, when they say something that inappropriate, like when you're the leader of the guild and the NPCs use the same sound bites they used when you were a new recruit. I'd honestly rather they didn't say anything at all.

Yeah, some parts are too realistic. So many chatter boxes who all seem to say the same things over and over again. Too many annoying people. I haven't met any truly interesting characters yet that are memorable. Few games developers focus on character development of great characters. Just as an example and not to compare in any other way, just think of your favorite characters in Bioware games, like The Illusive Man or Garrus in ME or Morrigan or Merril in DA. Skyrim is still game of the year for me, but not because of any characters I've yet to meet.

Alkthough I agree they had character, you really can't compare them. To have some sort of comparison, you'd had to take the shopkeepers and random NPCs on the Citadel. I don't quite remember how many lines they had.

It would be better to compare them to Bioware's own, namely the Fallouts. I don't remember them to be as annoying when it came to random NPCs. Although Shrapnel also repeated over and over "need to do some killing" when you visited his shop. But at least the guards in Rivet City didn't go out of their way to insult you.

But there's a mod to turn off these troublesome NPC one liners.

Combat system, Bugs, Linear quests, dumb A.I., just to name a few.

Linear quests:

A great example for the linearity of quests would be when the Blades demand for you to slay Paathurnax and they do so in commanding tone. It's ridiculous because they're supposed to serve the Dragonborn, not command them. You can choose to ignore that quest but the option for killing Paathurnax always remains available. There should've been the option to kill/injure the Blades instead and put them in their place.

Combat system/A.I.:

It doesn't feel like you're wielding a real sword when all that is required of the combat is to aimlessly hack away and spam health pots until the enemy's health bar is depleted. There should have been some element of aiming/skill involved with the weapon attacks and the critical attacks should be made when you hit an enemy in their vulnerable areas, and not based off a fixed critical rate. It's due to this failure of a combat system that 8 forsworn are able to kill an ancient dragon, where as a player could effortlessly sweep through 8 forsworn but face great difficulty with a big D. The monsters just don't scale properly and I blame it on the poor combat mechanics.

Dragons should be invulnerable in some places, where as vulnerable in other places but they're not, which makes ancient dragons equally susceptible to a mass-gang bangings as a run-of-the-mill cave bear, whom doesn't possess dragonscales or comparable natural armour'resistances. An Ancient dragon should meet a skilled Dragonborn on even terms, where as slaughter 8 unorthodoxly-trained barbarians. This doesn't happen in-game but logic dictates it should.

At the end, the victor of combat goes down to which party has the most Health and Damage stats, and not by how well the attacks were aimed or evaded.

tl;dr: An ancient dragon should absolutely murderstomp anything but a Dragonborn. Isn't that the whole point of TES 5:Skyrim?

The least liked thing in Skyrim? I'd have to say the ever annoying NPC's near-warp-speed-evasion of arrows even when undetected.

I mean seriously.

1] Why can't I ever move that fast.

2] If I'm undetected, are they psychic?

3] If they're psychic then, why didn't they prepare better? (They still wound up dead in the end)

and finally...

4] WHO STOLE MY DAMN SWEETROLL!!!!!!

I agree with locational damage mechanics to be present in the combat system, it will greatly increase gameplay in Skyrim. Most of the time in fights, either monsters or Dragons have 2-3 arrows stuck up exactly in the eye. But they _ahem_ feel no pain apart from some decrement in HP..

A cut/hit to certain location in the body should cripple, 2-3 arrows right in the eye should turn the target half blind (obviously disabling the arrow magnetism in the first place) and so on...

Imagine a very powerful mage who has one of his legs damaged beyond repair, even dismembered. Constantly loosing health with dismembered leg, the mage will then crawl and start using spells on enemy(if possible) while on the ground. <- this is how I would like fights to be.

Every now and again when I'm sneaking about a city, I'll be undetected and a gaurd will be looking right at me!! It's creepy and it underminds my awesome sneaking skills!!
