Is it ok to install mods that require SKSE?

I'm debating whether or not to start modding SkyrimSE with mods I know I'll want to use as they post on the new Nexus.

1. Will mods that need SKSE (scripted mods, Body mods, and any others that could fall in this category), still work, just not firing scripts/animations?

2. Once SKSE does finally come out, will I have to re-install all of those mods in a new game or will it all work once I just install SKSE?

I guess that these questions will determine whether or not I start the game now or just be patient and play the original for a few more months :)

Thanks for any replies :)

Not until a working version is out.

You will most likely CDT without it.

For now I am mostly testing mods I really want to keep to see if they work.

That's what I'm thinking. I just saw the mod Unread Books Glow and they said its working normally. So I was just wondering. It contains scripts but people are saying it's still working :)

It depends on what the mod needed SKSE for. If, like RDO or your glowing books mod, it just used the MCM menu to change mod options, you're probably fine. But if it actually needs the extra scripting calls to function properly (and I'm drawing a complete blank on a good example right now ) then you're out of luck.

Edit: and the mods that just need it for the MCM menu usually state as much in the description.
