Is it possible

I was very curious about 2 things that sort of bother me... I played Oblivion and bit of Morrowind

 

#1. Can alchemy be modified to have 4 ingredients like in Oblivion?

 

#2. Can Smithing be changed so that you can wear Top and bottom separately i.e. Greaves/Chest.

 

Would either of these be possible with the use of the CK when it arrives?

Maybe. I think more likely than not. If there are simply an extra biped slot here and there to be used freely it would be straight forward how to set it up... though I will note that because of the weight morph the actual splitting of the top and bottoms would be rather annoyingly drawn out process of 3d modelling.

Just off the top of my head...

 

1. Aside from reworking the entire Alchemy skill, this depends on how it's currently set up. You may need to allow for more than three attributes to be applied to a potion, or account for something else entirely.

 

2. This requires changing the player object, first of all the number of equip-able items. You would also have to add an entirely new apparel type to the game, decide what enchants it could have, as well as it's defense and improvement modifiers were. You might not have points on the character models to rig the armor if you want to do that... Point is this is a large project and THEN you have to make all the lower armor content.

 

So 1 seems plausible, maybe. 2 will require months and great pain and still might not work.

I'd say that both will largely depend on what you can do in the Construction Set. They have said they want it to be easier to use, and that it should allow you to completely rebuild the game if you so choose, so both should be possible. Depends on the finished product though.
