TheWilloughbian
The woodland looks good. It's hard to get them looking anything like real. I find colour helps a lot (a warm brown under the tree), as well as placing a slight rise under the tree. PJThanks. Yes, color is my new friend. Yes, and I also try to make the ground a little hummocky (from long decaying tree trunks) and add in fallen branches and logs scattered about.I wish there was more in the way of forest debris, placeable wise. Tchos
Saving is where I run into wierdness with the toolset. I often get get an error message about some path being denied and I end with a messed up temp file in my install directory. I have to exit out of the toolset or risk corrupting my modual. Doesn't do it all the time, but..... Saving is slower and more dangerous if you're not using directory mode, because it's replacing and repacking the entire module every time, instead of only the part you're working on. Sabranic
Saving is slower and more dangerous if you're not using directory mode, because it's replacing and repacking the entire module every time, instead of only the part you're working on. ^ That's advice that will save you a mountain of pain. Nothing like losing a whole day of work when a file crashes mid-save and gets corrupted. I find that after the 200 meg mark you should work in directory mode and not compress it into a single file again until you're ready to release it or hand it off to other team members. That's roughly when I notice you start developing some serious stability issues when saving to a single module file. Top Times I Crash:1: Removing grass or flowers.2: When going into the statistics tab while creating a new monster or NPC.3: Saving really large modules.4: Making drastic changes to the terrain height/textures/colors without baking.5: When entering the appearance window with some manner of VFX applied to a creatures.
