tc85123
I have always had a laptop but now am looking into a desktop and know nothing about them. Does anyone know what are the best out now for cheapest price as I dont need anything extravagant? I want SSD and I have noticed on most of the top 2016 desktop lists under $1000 have HDD. I dont plan on using a ton of space so a SSD with just 100 GB maybe less would be good for me. I only plan on using the machine for Morrowind TR, Divinity OS, and Pillars of Eternity and some much older games that dont take up much space. I am a pretty old school gamer so I dont need much but I want to leave myself open and able to upgrade in case something good comes out in the future. Please any advice would be much appreciated. - John
Gruftlord
is that 1000 for the whole setup, or do you already have things like monitor, speakers, webcam, mouse and keyboard? As far as main parts go, try to get something with an Samsung evo SSD (256 or more should by doable nowadays, don't go with anything smaller. prices are in steep decline), but if you want to invest a bit, look for something with PCI speeds (+ 2GB/s compared to Sata SSDs with ~ 0.5 GB/s)for graphics cars, i thing, depending on your finances, either a GTX 1070, 1060 or AMD 480 should be fine.Intel I7 6700HQ is all the rage among gamers these days, maybe you could squeeze that in somehow, financiallyYou might find a good offer off the shelf with these components. Gaming monitors start at ~ $300, but if you want nothing fancy, i plain simple IPS screen Full HD should set you about $100-150 back. You need speakers and webcam, Wlan and bluetooth? or are you already covered there/don't need? Edited November 6, 2016 by Gruftlord
Agathon343
I can give you a setup who will maybe make you happy: Intel Core I7 -4770 @ 3,40 ghz or I7 - 4770k (300 USD)Asus Q87M - E (100 USD)GS 700 Corsair 80+ Power Supply or Corsair RM750x 80+ (70 USD)8 gb Kingston RAM 1600 (70 USD)Cooler Master Saidon 120v Cooler (very quiet and strong for the price of 55 USD)Samsung SSD 850 Evo 120GB, SATA (70 USD)Seagate Desktop HDD 1TB SATA 6 gb/s (49 USD)ZOTAC Gforce GTX 970 Amp! (250 USD) or GTX 970 (160 USD) DIYPC Gamemax- W White Dual or Gamemax Black Dual Case ( 70 - 80 USD) You can take the money form the cooler and use it for the graphikcard.. but i would never take a graphikcar under 300 usd for gaming. At the moment you can get realy good cards for small price because of the new generation! So 200 or 250 would do it also! Hope the setup is something you like! Its one of the best you can get for the price and if you can find the single parts for lower money, just buy a better graphikcard! Edited November 6, 2016 by Agathon343
