ninjew42
Fairly straight forward issue. I downloaded a couple of different shower mods and tried to use them, my character disappeared. Same thing happened with the toilet portion of the mod.Thought maybe it was a compatibility issue between mods, wanted to make sure everything worked.Uninstalled the game entirely, reinstalled, set up ONLY one shower mod and the unofficial patch.Still happening.Using Windows 8.1 Asus laptop with Nvidia Geforce GTX 860M and I made the update to the prefs.ini to let the mods work. I can build the showers and tubs but I can't see my character using them at all.Any suggestions? Edited November 6, 2016 by ninjew42
NCRForever
According to your screenshot, you have 76 mods installed. The shower mod isn't the culprit. It's another mod that you have installed. Which the shower mod is incompatible with.
ninjew42
Those mods were not reinstalled after a fresh install of Fallout 4 and only what is in the screenshot is what's active on this play through and it still did it.
NCRForever
I wished I could help you, but, right now, I'm trying to troubleshoot issues with my game since the update. But, having no luck.
steve40
No reinstall is ever "clean" unless you first delete your entire game DATA folder and subfolders. Deactivating a mod isn't sufficient, you must also delete all its loose files if they didn't come packed in BA2 archives.
montky
Howdy!I am far from a pro,my mod fu is weak hehethough I have had similar issues with this as well a screenshot might be needed to help visualize what the problem is -is your NPC or player character "turning invisible" -or,are your NPC/player character "falling through the map"?/"disappearing" ------If it was an NPC that 'fell through the shower" -they have fallen through the navmesh at that point.if you no-clip,they may be directly underneath the shower,or in the roof/sky above it. it is the navmesh which is causing that issue. a quick solve, isusing the 'place anywhere' mod,put a tile with navmesh 'inside' the shower base, and BOOM!no more navmesh problem of weird falling to your death! in fairness, there are many places in the base game which have collision edge-detect and mesh-detect problems, you can swim to the bottom of Boston bay and fall through the map,be reset to the ceiling height and get stuck in an infinite loop...or, at Mass Fusion tower, you can phase through the elevator part, and be stuck inside the under-map of Mass Fusion tower...  -----If, you used the shower, and your player character becomes invisible...that is a materials/texture reference issue in the mod for the shower -it is coating you in a material that the game cannot find, and hence, you are now 'invisible'... similar issues occurred with the 'Wasteland Weather Cycle" mod, which coat the player in snow, and then they turn invisible, because the snow texture wasn't found or,illuminate in the lighting conditions... -----It could also be that those mods are dependent onanother mod, such as a nudity mod or a keywords/menu framework mod...It will work fine,up until it needs to read those dependencies. in that case, the mod authorhas made their mod dependent onother mods or on DLC etc...that can cause your model to turn invisible too. -----it could also be a 'cell-reset bug' issue,if your NPC is disappearing ------I hope I have given you some options, and I am very interested to hear how this resolves,as this may be a ticking timebomb for my Vault 111 refit mod,and the "any door any where" dependency on mysave-file merge mod to portdifferent locales to different installs of the game. feedback I'm hearing so far is,the low-res texture settings I run, are hard-coded into those save file merges, which cause the other install to become 'low-res-ified""your mod gave my FO4 low res cancer, so I had to reinstall" is the more feedback hehe.others also accused the mod ofcausing freezes or of locales turning invisible... ninjew42
So slight update on this. I cleared out every single thing for the fallout 4 folder under steamapps when I reinstalled it. ALL of it just to be sure. Only had the unofficial patch and the shower mod running as of that earlier screenshot.Secondly had a friend test it and they were using 1.6.9 patch and only that mod, worked fine. When I used it I was on the 1.7, I asked him to update the patch he used to 1.7 and I'm now on 1.8, going to test this weekend. I will provide a screenshot if it happens again with 1.8 and let you know if my friend gets the same error when he runs it on 1.7.What I'm seeing is in 1st person view the shower close up as if the camera is present and accounted for in the right spot, I sometimes see soap floating in midair if I sit there long enough. When I use the console command tfw and back up no pc using the shower just an unmanned shower in use.I'll keep looking into things on my end. damanding
I believe Steve40 and Flipdeezy programmed CWSS to have custom camera action. So using TFW may not be compatible with that mod. You might also have the wrong camera version installed for your camera settings. If you don't have custom camera settings in your ini file you need to use the version compatible with that. Unless the description has changed since I last installed that mod the descriptions of which file to use are slightly confusing if you're not paying attention. ninjew42
I was wrong it was tfc, my bad on the command. But! I rolled back with my mouse and all was well. That was my bad. I normally play with a controller because I'm used to those controls.
